Since the last day i'm not receiving the confirmation emails from Steam.
To Trade, To Sell an Item, Receive a Gift, nothing. Not even when i buy something in the market.

Some of my friends are having this problem too.
I use live/outlook.

I am still receiving emails just fine, I got one not even a minute ago. What email service are you using? Sometimes, automated messages get flagged as spam on some big spam blacklist, which would prevent all email services using that blacklist from receiving the emails unless they get whitelisted first (not even an option with all email providers though).

I sold a bunch of cards and like 3 hours later I got one email that was a combo for about 40-50 cards. That was a little strange

It's a widespread problem -- all over the Steam Community forums.

Apparently Yahoo, Hotmail, Apple's email service, and a couple others are not receiving emails. Unfortunately, changing your email gets you a 5 day trade ban. -_-

Since that is one of the first things a hijacker would do, that is sensible. And, frankly, maybe a little too short.

Yeah, I understand why the trade ban is in place.

The real problem is that there are a lot of people locked out of their Steam accounts because they can't get the email authorization when signing into another device, and you need to be able to receive the email from Steam when you change your email addy, too, LOL.

Hm, true. And many people are travelling today, either back to work between the holidays, or to start the end-of-the-year vacations.
At least we can chalk up another fuckup from Valve during the winter sale, so this is what, third day in a row now? I feel that new record coming.

I use the desktop authenticator out of necessity, but I don't receive any emails nonetheless. market history still shows all purchases and sells normally at least.

https://github.com/Jessecar96/SteamDesktopAuthenticator
You need an email confirmation and a telephone number associated with your Steam acount to use it, and a phone that can receive SMS to activate it for the first time. After that it acts like the Android/iPhone Steam app, and it can be portable, as long as you copy the user files to a USB stick or in a cloud storage (it can be, and recommended to be encrypted with a password).

I don't get emails "you have sold and item" which is fine. But I also don't get emails with trade confirmation. In fact I don't think that they are even send by steam (so it's not problem with receiving them), because when I accept trade it change status to "awaiting email confirmation" and it should stay like this. And instead after I refresh page it reverts to "you have new trade offer. You can accept / change / decline it".

Mine work using yahoo/gmail/hotmail & filters in Thunderbird to remove/mark Market-Purchases/Sales as read ...
if you haven't disabled them yourself, you got a problem - if their enabled check your mail
directly @ live they might be marked as Spam for whatever reason.

Nah, it's a problem at Valve's end.

I was reading on the community forums, and there's even a guy who uses his domain email for his Steam account and isn't getting emails. Not to mention it would be extremely unlikely that so many providers would block Steam emails all at the same time (icloud, @me, yahoo, hotmail, several overseas email providers, cable service email addies, etc).

EDIT: It's just Valve being Valve

It wouldn't be a Christmas sale without Steam having some kind of major screw up. The theme this year seems to be "let's give people trading cards that expire then make it impossible to trade them without mobile authentication". It's almost as if it was planned that way or something....

though this doesn't just hinder trading, it took me about three hours to log in here.... since I didn't get the email when logging in with a different pc. so it also hampers signing in to a site with my steam account, since this makes it hard to log into my steam account.

I was using Yahoo email for the trades. Assuming they fixed it for Yahoo (or Yahoo fixed it perhaps?), maybe Hotmail/Outlook will be the next to be fixed.

so what i did... i still had acces via google chrome to my steamaccount. So I disabled steamguard completely for a minute to log in via steam app on my phone. then activated phone authentication guard in steam. I can now acces steam anywere via the code received from app on my phone
----> MAJOR BUT <----
Apparantly when you disable/reset your steamguard you get a 14 days ban from trading/selling so this results in F*ck you steam! This is their fault I had to do those steps... Ticket made wondering what they will answer...
