Battleblock Theater, Castle Crashers, Duck Game, Lethal League, and Rocket League are some good ones I can name off the top of my head. I'd search your library or the Steam Store by the "local co-op" tag and see what you like.

If you're a fan of shoot-em-ups, I recommend Jamestown. Had a lot of fun with that one!
Rayman: Origins is pretty entertaining too.
And if you like fighting games, try Skullgirls. Oh wait, that's not a co-op... Still great with two controllers though.

Oh read your first post again and saw you wanted to play on only one PC, not Lan or anything, I think there is a lot of games on your list that are not real local coop games, you need 2 computers.

If you are looking for smash bros like games, I'd recommend Brawlhalla (which is free to play), or one of my favorites, Megabyte Puch. This one is like if Medabots and Smash bros had a baby. It has 2 player PvE Coop, as well as 4 player versus mode.You ARE going to have to play it a bit first, to unlock all the robot parts though.

It depends on a lit of factors, I like Nidhogg for quick games or if you want to play something with a story, and many days worth or co-op playtime, Divinity: Original Sin is a lot of fun,
