I'm planning to buy one of these and I need opinions on which one to buy.

P.S: I haven't played the originals on PS1

EDIT: Also, if you can, add an explanation why I should get 7 or 8.

The only other Final Fantasies I've played are XIII and XIII-2 and I didn't think those were too bad. I can't really say anything about other JRPGs though.

Then i would say 8 might be better with you the mechanics are simple like XIII and it has nicer visual than 7 ....but if you wanna have a better final fantasy experience get 7

7 is one of my favorite JRPGs, albeit being very easy, that's something pretty standard in FF games. I love the materia system, the story, and a lot of the characters were very well written and enjoyable. 8 on the other hand is probably my least favorite JRPG, the whole thing works really well for the first disc (except the only character I actually liked was Quistis), and from then on it all falls apart. The story turns to nonsense, and the magic system falls apart where the only thing that matters anymore is either grinding Firaga so you can get max damage or using cards to do the same. Overall my favorite FF game is 9, but of these two I would definitely go with 7.

All in abusing materia and hero's drinks (and barret). Also, I didn't really mean easy as in EVERYTHING in it is easy, but the main game itself wasn't too challenging, as in I beat Sephiroth in 2 turns at level 50.

Final fantasy 7 is way better than 8.

I would chose 7. It's by far the one of both that hook me for so long, however haven't finished it because I got tired of leveling uo for the final part. 8 is a little bit less enoyable for me for the simple reason the materias are used like an object, and yu don't have a mp bar.

never played 8 'cause I didn't like its magic system, 7 is good but sephirot is way overrated XD

Haven't played 8, but 7 is average and still holds up today.

I am controversial because I prefer 8 over 7.

i loved 8. so many secrets and things to explore, played it about 3 times til complete. maybe more. 7 i played once. i think 7's characters are cooler. but the amount 8 offers is amazing. i would buy it but im worried i spoil my nostalgia.

also "The Last Remenant" is on sale for $2.50 so that might be a good buy.
