Buying a bundle on steam with a game you already own

So.. the MK11 bundle is on sale. I already own MK11 but not the expansion. Its cheaper if I buy the bundle then the addon but I already own MK11. Is it possible to gift MK11 to a friend some how? And I keep the expansions?

If you buy that bundle on Steam you won't receive an extra copy if you have the base game.

Edit: That's why it is better to wait for a definitive edition.

well that technically is the definitive edition. But I'm guessing you mean don't buy the game early? Idk I've always been a MK fan and a fighting game fan.. so when I saw MK11 I kind of bit the bullet. was fun when it was released.. but I have not played it since.. and the expansion adds sp content which I kind of want.. but this is just bad.. hopefully a 3rd party site sells this bundle too like GMG or fanatic so I can gift the key hopefully unless its a single key.

Unless I'm mistaken, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is a 'package' rather than a 'complete-the-set' bundle. This means Steam will not let you buy it if you own any of the contents. You would need to buy this instead.

Alternatively if you pick up MK11 Ultimate from another store (it's currently on sale on GamesPlanet), it will be a single key and when activated will not give you an extra copy of what you own.
