I need some help.

I downloaded PS1 emulator, but after searching some stuff on the internet I found that best files for PS1 emulators are .CUE / .BIN, because of some MODE2/2352, and also for backing up /burning games. But I don't know if just for burning PS1 games or every platform. I was using .ISO until now.

Also, I don't know if it the best using .CUE / .BIN files for PS2 emulators.

Maybe someone out there knows anything more about this.

What files are you prefer for emulators backing up games?

Probably most prefered .CUE / .BIN, IMG, ISO.

Also, why two exactly the same games for PS1, with the same file extensions, the same file size inside, are in different sizes? There's no anything like less languages or something.

Thanks. My question is simply if .CUE / .BIN is best for emulators and backing up, burnings CDs / DVDs.
And why are some games in different size even when both are in .ISO and files in them are same in the same size, but ISO size is different... :/ It's strange.

I always use .bin and .cue, not sure if there's a difference if any.

Also for PS2, PS3, XboX360 or PC? I'm not sure what I read before. But I think they said it is best usable for PS1, not for PS2 and the other platforms, but probably it is.

I've only encountered .bin and .cue files on PS1 games.
Every PS2 image I've seen uses .iso.

So .CUE / .BIN is probably only usable only for CD-ROMs... That,s what I needed to know. Thanks!
I heard .BIN is recommended for PS1 games, because it uses MODE2/2352. .ISO uses MODE1/2046 and some other, something like that. It's some bytes per sector or something like that... I read that .BIN makes perfect copies from discs, what is on them, or something like that. Still, IMG is better than ISO for PS1 emulators and backing up PS1 games as I heard. Maybe for others too. I'm not sure if .BIN is really on PS2, you said you didn't see any. But IMG is probably on it. Didn't know it's that complicated... But you probably don't care about it. :D

Some proper googling should provide the answer to most questions...
I reckon you can use the filetypes interchangeably and it wouldn't make much of a difference in the end.
