so this kid wants to trade BO2 for 25 bucks so he brings a middleman and sends him the game, I ask for the middleman to show me the game in a trade window but the guy goes offline and apparently stole the game. now the kid is blaming me (WHEN IT WAS HIS MIDDLEMAN) for losing the game and still wants me to send him the $25

Poor kid, he must be feeling like crap now. It's still pretty stupid of him to ask you for the money when it was his middleman, though.

DERP, for some reason I read BC2 instead of BO2, so it didn't sound all that weird (BTW, BC2 is $30 in my region, I just remembered it was $20 in the US). It was definetely a scam, but I wonder who the hell can be stupid enough to fall for it. :/

If it was his middleman, sounds like a scam,
Should have used a trusted middleman or refused

The cheapest BO 2 is a little over $27 from Russia. That means that he was willing to take a loss, which should have been the first sign that this was most likely a scam. Probably both he and the middleman are in on it and hoping you pay for it.

Yes. but I don't get it... If he really had the game and both were working together, he could have given the fake middleman the game. Then the middleman would show it to the victim, waited the victim to pay then run away with it.

Scam, coulda been bought on a stolen CC or parents, and probably would have gotten taken away either way so you have a extra $25 to actually buy the game.... if you really want to.....

There is no evidence that this was a scam, it could of been, but no one really knows except the kid and the middleman.

I actually had that once.
I was selling a weapon and instead of a scrap I got the person's Strange Half-Zatoichi (TF2).
He wanted it back and I agreed, but I have internet problems sometimes, just like that time.
After that he added me and I explained it. Good ending. :)

They could have scammed him by showing him the item, Afterall... OP did agree to the deal.

They just had to ask for him to go first & Then disappear, So it doesnt seem like a scam. It looks more like a kid in panic.

He brings a middleman (he brings, it's important) and send him is game. Then middleman goes offline and trader want money for you. You feel bad for it and trader gets his 25$. And the best part of this story. Mr Middleman and Mr Scammed Trader are friends. Mr M give game back to Mr ST and receiving 12,50$ for his job. I'm sure it's true, no one sells Black Ops II for 25$, even stupid guy, but it is easier to get 25$ than for example 40$ if someone admit that he has been scammed.

I think I wrote it clear
