Hello bwoys and gurls im trying to host a game server but i found that my ISP is blocking all the UDP ports (this is a ISP level so modify the forwarding ports on Firewall/Router won't work) I was hoping find another way to host my server, some kind of service (I don't mind to pay for it) that work as a tunnel betwen my server and the Internet, or some kind of VPN easy to use. I don't want people have to install hamachi to play on my server. I want just an easy configuration for them, or none if possible.

Srry for my bad english

I was going to suggest trying Hamachi or other VPN, but unfortunately I don't know of an "easy" was around it. Can't just sprinkle some fairy dust and have a VPN magically appear =P

I was thinking on some VPN packet that you can download and install, Something like the APN Switcher on the iPhone, were you download the profile and install it on your device.

I'm not an expert, but one of my friend had a problem with UDP communication... he solved it simply by changing his DNS server to the google open dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
I am not sure if it has anything to do with it, but worth a shot. Good Luck.

If you think VPN could be your solution, i'm using PrivateTunnel, it's very fast, and has good pings for me, and you can try it before buying it (100MB free).

I try changing Windows DNS but didn't try changing the Router/Modem DNS I will try. Also thanks for the VPN I hope that isn't my only choice, I don't want to risk my data.

a DNS server is basically a database that maps IP addresses to website names, has nothing to do with a problem communicating over UDP ports

If you don't mind paying for it, you could just buy a VPS and have someone else host the server for you, but still allow you to access it and modify it.

But, really, contact your ISP and get them to stop blocking your UDP ports, or switch to a better ISP.

In my country this is the best ISP, i contact them and they tell me that they don't block the ports I know that is not true, because ive been configuring my router so many times, and never works. Even when i turn the DMZ on, the ports were still blocked.
I think Ill be paying for a VPS service I found a real cheap one.

UDP isn't likely your problem. Maybe if you provide more specifics. What game? What ports have you forwarded? What router are you using?

It's entirely possible for an ISP to be blocking only certain protocols on certain ports though (like those used by game servers). DNS uses port 53 I believe, and no ISP would ever block that.

It's highly unlikely that your ISP is blocking all your UDP trafiic. If you use Skype, try this. Make a call (even to the call testing service) and open Call > Call Technical Info. You should see udp packets being received there normally. I'd bet your networking problem lies elsewhere.

yep, any voice or video communication software should use UDP

UDP connection used in video streaming, if it's blocked.. you can't even play youtube video

use this site to configure port forwarding on your router

Just tried playing a Youtube video and it looks like it's opening a bunch of TCP ports in the 10xx-11xx range

99.99% certain the ISP isn't blocking all UDP ports.

Most likely the problem is with either your router or your firewall, those would be my first guesses.

If your ISP is blocking all UDP ports, then you're accessing this website through another ISP or using its IP directly, as domain data is relayed through UDP. You're also unable to play any online games that use UDP, which are plenty of them. You are also unable to view any videos.

So yeah, your ISP wasn't lying.
