Everyone has access to the spectator client. The early access allows you to actually play the game instead of looking at other people playing it.

Every Steam account has access to the spectator client of Dota2, but there are people who intentionally never activate their copies of Dota2, so that they can enter more giveaways for Dota2 and win more copies which they can regift and increase their contributor value.

Curl up into a ball and cry deeply.
Even if it's removed from your list, it'll come back at sync

Stupid spectator client, it makes me be unable to enter on giveaways :/

That's how valve make money, on peoples stupidity. Them and EA are very alike.

It's actually funny you mention it. I have not entered a single Dota 2 giveaway... But when I open the Dota 2 store page, then it says I already own Dota 2... though it does not appear in my games library. Is this the spectator client or something?

I still don't have a copy even though they have been flooding the site. Would like to have one but the luck is just not with me this time.

I'm really confused about Dota 2. It's listed as $29.99 on Steam, but says I already own it (I didn't sign up for a beta) and it says ALL my friends have it, even ones that never use their Steam account. I'm just really curious as to why it has a price for early access if everyone is already able to download it, and why people are actually entering for drawings of Dota 2 if they own it. Do they not know they own it? Am I missing something?
