So I just went to the Spam and Suspensions thread to ask a question and I notice that almost every report has no reply and also one person points out the following: "ever realized that there has been NO admin or mod active in over a year?"

What happened? I mean, are they suspending/banning but not mentioning it or replying to the reporter?
I mean, I'm not saying that I would be a great mod but if any help is needed I could try to help.

The guy that placed that comment is just an impatient idiot, I can assure you stuff on ST does get modded albeit at a slow pace. (No dedicated mods though, only staff from SG)
Main 2 ways to get something done is this; you either submit a ticket here if it's private/urgent and if you simply want to point something out or report someone for a smaller offence like spamming you can do that in the thread you mentioned it'll be processed in due time.

Alright, thanks for your reply.

Still, they could at least try to reply (or edit the reports) to assure that they are taking care of the issues.
My issue isn't all that urgent because even I don't care to much with what happened to me. I just would like to get a reply within a few days or a week, because this can easily happen to another person.
I'm only posting it so I can try to prevent other people from committing the same mistake as I did.

Ha, you want a reply in a few days or a week, and so do the other few thousand people that submitted a ticket today to the 2-3 mods that do this for free in their spare time. Be patient, its not all that easy, you might have even posted the ticket in a place only the admin can read.

I know it's not easy, I was just giving a suggestion. Not because "I'm going to have to wait", but because there's a lot of people asking for help and very few mods doing that, as you said.

And what suggestion is that exactly? Your post name is "Are ST mods dead?" and you quote somebody saying that no mods have been active in over a year, then you ask if they are just not responding, what suggestion did you exactly give?

You must've missed my two comments (one of them replying to a support staff) asking why it takes so long and why can't they get more people. If you fail to get this, I can clarify: I did not complain. I only asked questions :)

Pandryl has a point, though. Your subject title is disrespectful and you have done nothing to fix it.

Never intended to be disrespectful. Is it better now?

I never said you complained, i just still can't see what suggestions you gave, i know you asked questions, and there's nothing wrong with that, you said you gave suggestions, i just can't see them. The title is disrespectful, but if you feel like that represents your mood regarding this or it should be the title that's your choice, just have patience regarding the ticket response and hopefully there will be more mods when v2 goes live so we will have less wait-time.

For me, pointing out something that "went missing" is, technically, a suggestion. You may be asking: what did you point out? Simple, the lack of replies regarding each report and the [apparent] long waiting time to get help with an issue.
Again, did not complain and gave a suggestion. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I just might of used the wrong words (and for that, I am sorry!).

User reports do not get responses.

That is not completely right. They used to reply, they might not do that anymore (and that is why I made this thread).

User Report button hasn't been working for the past year. Only the admin (cg) can see them, but since he doesn't deal directly with tickets, they don't get resolved. You have to file a support ticket to report someone, not a user report.

we need ST v2.0 .. or a new kind of ST if someone started it

Posting in that thread is pointless as no one moderates anything there and hasn't for a long time, so in that respect it is essentially abandoned. The only way to report anything is to submit a ticket here on SG and hope they get to it in less than a couple of months.

I gave up on actively doing it. ST is a toxic place, enough said. A lot of the requests I couldn't handle myself either as I was, despite repeated requests for months on end, never given tools for helping deal with reputation or even closing threads from ST itself, so even if I did take it up, I'd need to rely on Cross or Lina being online and available to deal with things and be prepared to put up with the spam of a thousand tickets. With that and the many issues regarding ST that never got fixed despite plenty of requests for them, I just gave up, it wasn't worth the effort running around relying on spamming other people to do the job only I had an actual interest in. Barring Yatterman, of course, who was far more capable at figuring out the bull that people gave in "he scammed me, no, he scammed me" cases, but who wasn't ever remodded.

But if the number of requests was so high, why not have a higher number of mods?
You seem like a nice guy, I'm sure you've met a handful of trustworthy people who could help. But that doesn't seem to be the problem...

I couldn't understand one thing though, are there any people active in ST and SG who give support on these cases?

More mods is something everyone has also asked for repeatedly, for both ST and SG. cg hasn't wanted to add any new mods until the site update goes through. There's plenty of people who have been suggested, especially to increase the number of languages support can handle, but none have gone through so far.

This might be a rather stupid question but seeing as how ST is basically a c/p of the SG forum and both sites seem connected hardware-wise, does that mean that ST will be upgraded when SG v.2 goes live, or does that remain exactly the same as it is now?

ST will remain like it is, afaik

I'm pretty sure the design will be adapted, at least that's what I get from some of the discussions on SGv2 (there's also a discussion about splitting ST into 2 forums, 1 for trades, 1 for game deal discussions).
ST is basically just a forum with bumps, I don't think it's as complex to test as SG.

There is lots of misinformation here.
Yes, the staff became less (or some have been inactive) but you can report users to SG support (even for ST issues), as mentioned on this sticky. If you don't create a ticket or a user report, which I don't think you have, then you will not have your issue resolved (unless someone else reports the same user via their profile or a ticket).

Also, just because there haven't been any messages informing any reporter in a while, even though there were previously, does not mean that those replies were the correct practice.

With that said, I will close this thread, but you are welcome to create a ticket to report a user or to give us your suggestions.
