Morning everyone,

So I see No Mans Sky is on sale for 60% off. Im wondering if its worth getting now at that price. I dont have alot to spend so I want to make
sure its a decent game now before squandering my penance on it. I remember my oldest step son preordering it, and then all the disappointment
expressed with some very colorful, rage induced, expletives for weeks after the launch. He hasnt touched it since.
So, I'd like your opinions on the game, those who have played it and are current on how it plays now.

Thanks for your help :)

Update: Well seems my bad luck has struck yet again, so while I thank every single person who voted and commented, I wont be buying it.
The money will go towards vet bills. Right after I posted the discussion I was told one of our guinea pigs wasn't acting right. We had the funeral
yesterday. This morning our youngest guinea pig also passed away. Last, a kitten we got last week before all this started is very sick and needing to
go to the vet tomorrow morning. I have a towing company coming tomorrow morning to buy and scrap my old junker car, giving me cash to spend on
Denozo. Named after the character on NCIS.

Again, thank every one for their incite and taking the time to comment and or vote.

Even with the sale...It's still overpriced for a game.
On the other hand it's a very expensive screensaver.

I like it. I liked it when it was new and I think it's better now. But it depends what you want out of it. It's a relaxing game about exploring and building your base.

I would hold off. I've heard of some good improvements but both the overall score and recent scores are still pretty bad. I would believe it's improving but looking at reviews it doesn't seem like it's where it should be yet. But hey. You can always buy it and try. If it's not up your alley you can refund it if you have under two hours playtime

It's better than it was at release but it's still as mediocre as ever even with a big discount. At that price, there's still literally thousands of other significantly better options for your money to go to.

If you want a relaxing single player space fighting and exploring game go with Everspace. Check if you like it.

At E3 they promised a MMO feeling, a way you never felt MMO before. Universe so big, that its rare to meet someone even when there 2.000 players online. After years of development ect. the devs still didnt implement the MP/online function. all the exploring and base building getting bored because its always the same sh*.. once you explored the whole planet, you travel to the next one and repeat what you have done on planet 1. since there is no other person exploring this universe, you feel very lonley at some point. do not buy this game as long its not support the promised multiplayer mode.

Check this out, will explain alot -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ITSmPZBMwI

Don't pay over $5 for it. Not only is it not worth more, the devs also really don't deserve it.

You have to remember that a lot of people complaining about it aren't considering it as the game it is, they're considering it as compared to the game they feel they were promised in the hype for years before release... and it falls short. Very short.

On the other hand I've heard a lot of people who find it a very relaxing game when you want to just zone out and explore... So it really comes down to what you enjoy and what you're looking for. It isn't what was promised, but it's a game. Not a game worth the full price they ask, I'd say, but what price it is worth to you I can not say.

I sit down with my little girl and we wander the galaxy finding new animals and plants together. We build "space homes" wherever we go and put aliens in them who can live together. When we aren't playing we are talking about our next base design or guessing about what the next animals we find will look like.

I give the game a 10/10 when playing with my daughter

Without her I got the platinum (I play PS4) and moved on. I had fun with it for what it was, but I doubt it would still be installed if I didn't have my daughter.

Still hoping this next update will be awesome.

Assuming there will be another update, considering the game hasn't been updated for three months now.

Ive played over at a friends.

The game ain't bad with the updates. It isn't that good either depending on what you're looking for- the gameplay still is shalow. The repetitiveness of tasks is bad as a design flaw: If the point of the game isn't on gameplay but just the experience of travelling they're just getting in the way, uneeded. If they're supposed to have purpose they fail at that.
Its bearable once you pass a point of a few hours in with enought resources and upgrades to gather resources quickly; this side of the gameplay that was supposed to be a challenge or engaging isn't neither- its just a shore.

But the experience of travelling is really nice. With planet generation tweaked and mods on top if you wish its better or on par with many indies with overall/most positive reviews on steam; Not for better gameplay but in being a novelty experience. However its far behind better indies.

The problem is- gripes over their marketing aside- Price.
No.
Just no.

Give your money to Hollow Knight for example. Thea. Heck so so many other games that are way better and more inovative... Fgs even astroneer that isn't on sale is far better.

Not for this price. ever.
