On steam, and no, not Universe Sandbox - I'm not much into space.

Got any ideas? Kind of too lazy to sit and browse through the entire strategy/Simulation categories on steam to find something slow paced enough.

Civilization IV/V. The problem with it is that a good game lasts some days then xD

RPG, turn based games, TD games or story games
Simulation is a hit or miss, if it's kerbal then you can't eead a book while flying a spacecraft unless you are super leet on maneuver nodes. Simulation that you can do is probbly simcity or roler coaster tycoon.

Suggestions:
Underrail
Incognita
Agarest
Final Fantasy
Last remnant
Civ 5
Anomaly 2 or warzone earth
Deponia games

Rome II total war,
Supreme Commander (not the 2nd),
Cities in Motion,
Mount & Blade (sort of, just keep a close eye out),
Crusader Kings II

I tend to read while playing these in particular.

If you divide your attention between too many things, you won't get full enjoyment out of any. It's the conundrum where you fill your day with activities and are rushing between them to make it all in time. Your need to make it to each corrupts your initial plan in the end; to enjoy yourself.

Any kind of turn based game like Heroes of Might and Magic (especially HOMAM V where is bugged AI turn timer), Civilization (but not at beginning), or something like Simcity or TTD where you have to wait for money when you play on hard ;)

Other strategy, RPG, or board games that are turn-based.

Or, you could listen to an audiobook.
