Is it possible to make it so that giveaway creaters can tag a tag a game as requiring VR gear, much the same as we have region tagging now.

Then have a user configurable filter to block out all VR titles should we chose.

It just seems a waste to win VR games if you don't have the VR gear to run them.

Adding a VR tag will only stop the people nice enough to check a game before entering - and those people usually check anyway without a tag (though it would be save time for those who do check).

It's the ones who don't check (and probably don't care) who enter anyway, and a tag wouldn't stop them from entering alongside the people who actually own a VR headset.

I think it's a nice idea, though.

Like me:P I've seen titles that seemed interesting, go to the steampage, and see "Requires VR headset" and pull a Vader:

should even be better if added to user settings

although i don't know if sg can automatically filter them.

I'd love the ability to hide games that match certain tags.

Imagine how much time I'd save if all those Hidden Object games were automatically hidden :-)

Yo dawg I heard you like HOGs so I hid a tag on Steamgifs so now you can search while you search.

You've got a foot in the door, Pete - make it happen! :-D

On my Steam discovery queue, I'm hiding Hidden Object, RPGMaker, MOBA, Visual Novel, VR, Massively Multiplayer, Free to Play and Walking Simulator. Though to be honest it has become my habit to hide individual games/DLC on SG every day... up to about 10,400 games/DLCs hidden now.

True. I used to hide some more tags on Steam, but then I discovered a few games that I was interested in or actually owned, which included that tag. So I removed some tags. At least on SG I can view each game and decide on an individual basis if it's something I would play or not. It has resulted in basically only ever 1 page of giveaways to look through, but at least I know they are all games I want to play. But every week or so another bunch of greenlit games get pushed through a bundle and I discover more to hide :-)

Good idea. And even if it is not implemented at site level, there can be a userscript to tag VR games within giveaways. SG is blessed with good users writing scripts exclusively for SG like https://www.steamgifts.com/discussions/general/search?q=userscript

I think you should sugest this here: SG Game Tags.
Things here doesn't change... If you want to improve your experience on SteamGifts, it is better to run to userscripts.
