Does anyone know what price bugs have happened so far in the Summer Sale? I'd like to compile a list just for my own curiosity, perhaps some of you are interested too. It doesn't matter if it was region specific, just post it anyway and I will add it to the list. I'm aware of Dark Souls in Russia so far, but I'm not sure what the percentage off was, if someone could provide me with numbers, that would be great.

Price bugs so far

  • Dark Souls (Russian store only) - 99% off
  • A Wizard's Lizard - 68% off
  • Valiant Hearts (Russian store only) - 99% off

Dark Souls (Russian store only) - ??% off
It was 99% off (5 rubles (≈$0.15) instead of 203 rubles (≈$5.89)).

It's region-locked, thus not allowed on Steamgifts. It won't be bundled.

There's no way to activate that on US-based Steam accounts, right?

using VPN, you can, but you risk a ban

What period counts as a pricing bug? Or we're just intrested in insanely big deals (like the 99%)?
For example Super Meat Boy started with -66%, then got fixed to -77%.

Errors in the buyer's favor are all that matter really, I imagine. Steam does take time to refresh prices to their true price drop level sometimes, if that's what happened here.

A friend told me that this game was 68% off. Almost nobody has noticed.

Yeah, I heard about that, added to the list.

Darn, missed that. And I have a running giveaway for it :(

Yeah I saw that one when the sale started but they fixed it. A Wizard's Lizard is the only price error that I have observed thus far.

I wouldn't have bought it at 68% anyway ;D

I think Valve complete pack was 75% at first then they changed it to 50%, along with other HL packs etc...

I'm not too sure about this one, but I'll add the complete pack because it sounds plausible.

It was on sale along with Half Life on Flash Sale. It wasn't a pricing error.

yeah i was checking it out at 75% and i figured it was just a good deal, not an error

Farm your life was 100% off haha. Was £-0.01. You couldn't buy it though.

Yeah, the "add to cart" option was not visible. The glitch happened at the very beginning of the sale.

I saw that one too, however when I clicked on it and went to store page,it said -50% and you could buy it.

Yeah, happened with Dragon Age Origins yesterday. 125% off haha :)

Valve Complete Pack 75% off isn't a price error at all.

Does Daily Deals taking like a full minute before getting the pertinent Daily Deal discount count? (ie. they were with default discount/no discount for a minute or so)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, that is likely by design. The purpose of this thread is to point out errors that result in games being discounted more than they should be.

These arent really bugs, the percentage just doesnt propagate immediately when things get a further discount than their normal sale price when they hit daily, flash, or community. Its pretty much the same every sale. People always freak out when the percentage is not as high as they'd like and then 2 minutes later it propagates and the further discount is added.

Unless its a clear error in your favor (usually 80s-90s), its best to wait a few minutes when the new deals hit to ensure you're getting it at the lowest discount.

I would add the glitch on amazon : Age of Empires 2 HD + The Forgoten DLC for $2.5 US (no quite Steam, but a price bug neverless)

Kind of sad. I miss Dishonored GOTY, Don't Starve, and Just Cause at a pittance.

I remember Just Cause having a -97% discount in 2011 summer, it was about 0.27 euro. Not a bug tho, it was a hidden sale or something.

It was advertised as going on for 90% in the voting, % difference is probably to keep it at 'buy 4 for the price of 3'

Nether was -105% for a few minutes when it came out on sale. Steam was really crowded so I don't know what was gonna happen if I bought it. It was R$ -3 in brazil

Nothing would have happened. Steam store won't let you buy an item that is 100% off or more. You can't even add it to your cart.

When Castle Crashers went to 90% off there was a bug in the Can't Stop Laughing Bundle that caused it to go to 90% off. Basically you could get CC and BattleBlock Theater for cheaper than just BBT. Even the 2 pack of BBT would cost more than two copies of the CSL Bundle.

BattleBlock Theater was $3.75USD
Ultra Baby's Co-op Chaos Pack (just a BBT 2 pack): $6.25USD
Can't Stop Laughing Bundle (Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater): $2.49USD
