So, i was planning to buy something to replace my old psp, and i'm not sure which one to buy. PSVita has better screen, and hardware, it also does have some interesting games such as the new corpse party, but on the other hand nintendo still has mario... Which one do you suggest?

3DS/2DS very cool games, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros 4, Pokemon, other Nintendo exclusives like Fire Emblem, Super Mario, etc, PSP was good but not PSVita, 3DS is really great. If you are buying a portable console it must about fun, not about which has better graphics, I don't find PSVita that enjoyable as 3DS/2DS.

The 2DS/3DS have a way better array of games in my opinion (now, if only they made a Metroid for it), so I'd go for the 2DS.

Well in all honesty it depends on what type of game you like more. The Vita mostly has indies, ports and a few first party titles, but not many and of course you can download any PS1 & PSP games from the PlayStation store. The 2DS has a lot of first party titles, some indies too and you can play any DS games on it too, plus there's the Virtual Console full of games for the Gameboy, Gameboy Color, NES and some other systems. I personally have a 3DS XL and love it, but both are good so it just boils down to what you prefer to play.

Damn! I read "first party tities"... it's too much internet for today.

Well, I enjoyed a lot the PSP games, and people here says you can play them in PS Vita.

PS Vita has alot of JRPG's if you are interested, I am gonna try get both someday, 3DS has an amazing line up, and im sure PS Vits will have a improved line up to come. I dislike the 2DS variation though.

The Vita is probably not going to stick around for much longer I'm afraid, Sony did almost nothing to save it at E3 (and it needs saving asap). The 3DS/2DS has alot of great titles at the moment and even more to come with games like SSB and the Pokemon remakes.

If I weren't a nice guy I am, I would say that that's a nice example of a thread of Vita owners circlejerking in a pitiful neverending attempt of justifying their purchase. But I am an extremely nice and generally all-around pleasant personality, so I won't say that. So.... there's that.

I'm not talking about any of the replies (I didn't even read them); I'm simply talking about the huge list of games/images in the OP.

Nothing against the vita, I even wanted one someday... But more than half of this list is made from indie pc games ports, and at least 1/3 of japanese titles that wont come to the west. ATM 3DS has a way more solid exclusives lineup, and Sony is forgetting vita even more these days.

I respectfully disagree. First keep in mind that that list is mostly upcoming and doesn't take into account the first two years worth of games. What the 3DS has that the Vita doesn't are system-sellers (eg. Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing)...there are people that bought a 3DS just for one of those games and don't touch anything else. Beyond that though, the Vita has way more good games than the 3DS has, which is why it has a higher attach rate than anything else.

Well, here is my observation from this years gamescom: Nintendo handhelds are ubiquitous. I only saw about 4 2DS in the crowd, but looooooots of fully compatible 3DS. And I don't think I saw someone with a PSP or PSVita other than the ones leashed to the Sony booth.

The Vita is great, if your willing to spend some more money, it has pretty good titles with nice graphics, except that all of them are quite expensive, and to add-on to that, there aren't even many titles out for the Vita..

On the other hand the 2DS has tons of games, though some games don't suit certain people. I feel like the 2DS titles mainly consist of Nintendo games. If you want 3D graphics kinda thing go for the Vita.

I would say 2ds as well nintendo really controls the handheld market unless there is a specific game for vita you really want to play or you have a ps3/4 that would work well with it

PS Vita is awesome and a better overall gaming experience. Don't listen to naysayers; it's certainly not just JRPGs...I think my collection is three JRPGs and 40 non-JRPGs at the moment.

I'd say just look at the games and see which ones you would be more interested in. 3DS has Fire Emblem, Pokemon, and Animal Crossing...all of which are huge timesinks. But if you're not interested in those, I'd go with the Vita.

Not to mention the 2ds is much cheaper than the vita and it has quite the first party lineup . Its kinda lacking in third party support, but the eshop boasts many great indie games and virtual console games. Prices for games may be questionable.

Rather than 2DS buy slightly used 3DS (even if you wont use 3d function, it is clamshell design so you can actually take it with you)

Back when PS+ included a bunch of games at the same time, i would've recommended vita. i won one and i love it. But as it is today, i'd say 2DS. I think both of them could use a lot more games, though. They get much more love in Japan.

Though I like Sony more than Nintendo, take the 2DS. I tried the PSVita at Gamescom and the touch screen is just not good. Also, Nintendo has quite many exclusive games ^^

I own a Vita myself, I love it but I'd say go for a 3DS (not the 2ds, pls dont). It has more games for the mainstream market opposed to the Vita.

2ds because of its amazing library. I actually prefer it over my 3ds when using it at home anyway because I like the button layout a bit better.

I have both systems, and I personally prefer my vita over my 2DS. I think the vita is more confortable in my hands and I have never been a fan of the 2ds circle pad. But most importantly the games. There alot more games I like on the Vita, I love JRPGs and there is a huge range of them on the Vita, you can also play alot of older playstation titles on it too. And I would also say that it has a bigger range of indie titles if you're into that. I love my 2DS too but there are only 5 games in the library that interests me. But Fire Emblem is amazing.

I would have to say, a 2DS because, it has a great range of games, and I heard more about it than the PSVita.
