Hey there fellow steamgifts nerds,
I have been looking for a good game which I would able to play on my laptop for a while now
and i was wondering if you could recommend me any? :D

The genre doesn't really matter much as long as it is fun :P
still a good fps/rpg game would be awesome ;D
hope anyone knows about a game,
and Thanks in advance :)

i can actually play magicka pretty well and have been playing through the campaign with my friends, it's just that i seem to have run in to a bug in which all of the textures disappear and all i see is the character walking on a white background D:

Eador - Genesis, Ys the Oath in Felghana or maybe some C&C would be good games that would also run rather well on a laptop.

You've got 177 games in your library and several not played yet. Does another game really help? well OK but but here are Some I couldn't find on your list: The dream machine, Bastion, Braid (got it on your list but not played yet), Deus EX (the very first one), mechanical, was magigca on your list?, The bridge looks interesting comes out in a week, to the moon etc. etc.

True i have a whole lot of games, the main reason i haven't played some of them is mainly because i got them out of bundles here and there or from some trades for tf2 items and I'm just not really interested in them, or that my laptop just can't run other games in my library (can't handle the awesomeness), but i will be getting a new computer soon so hopefully that will change things :D
Have Bastion and have completed it, it is my favorite game ever xD and i will check out Braid ;)
thank you for the other games :P

Brogue (free), Dungeons of Dredmor, Super Meat Boy (maybe; it doesn't work well with some hardware), Planescape Torment, most Diablo clones (like Torchlight.) Civilization (anything before 5, which sucks.) Thomas Was Alone. Super Hexagon. AI War (probably will work well, not sure.) Knytt. Probably Mark of the Ninja. Almost any adventure game (Monkey Island, Resonance, Day of the Tentacle, etc.) FPS: Painkiller: Black. To the Moon. Unepic. Space Pirates and Zombies. Cthulu Saves the World. Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space.

"Could you recommend me any good game that could run on a lousy laptop?"
I doubt Skyrim would run on the lowest settings even at 800x600. I have a lousy laptop and used to play games on it before I built my desktop.
The same applies to Sleeping dogs. Although he/she may run it, it won't get an average 30 FPS, and so won't really be playable.

I got a friend who can run skyrim with mods on her lousy laptop but cant run minecraft on lowest settings.

  • Star Wars: Empire at War
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
  • Company of Heroes
  • Star Wars: Battlefront II
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (both 1 and 2)
  • Spore
  • The Sims 2 and 3
  • Beat Hazard (Do not get this if you have photosensitive epilepsy)
  • Dungeon Defenders
  • Evil Genius
  • L4D2 (no point getting the first, since all the campaigns are in the second)
  • DOTA 2 (if you do not have it, I can send you a link to the DOTA bot)
  • Portal (2 should be able to run on lousy laptops too. Portal 1 worked on mine, but I never bought Portal 2 on PC)
  • Dwarfs!?
  • Zeno Clash
  • Hotline Miami
  • Eufloria
  • SimCity 4
  • GTA 1, 2, 3, VC and SA

Spore doesn't run well on any integrated graphics as far as I've seen. I would only recommend The Sims 1 and 2, not 3. It would probly be too much since the pathfinding is cpu intense. The others should be fine tho.

The Sims 3 worked okay on my lousy laptop. It froze (well, dropped to 1 FPS) every 1-2 hours, but only for 20-40 seconds tops. Also, Spore worked fine on it too, it ran at around 20-30 FPS.

How lousy is lousy? Maybe play older games that you never got a chance to play. GTA1, HL1, etc. If you computer isn't THAT bad there are a lot of indie games that can run on slower systems. I'd give a look at Limbo, Hotline miami, Lone Survivor maybe SPAZ or FTL? I know there's a mod for minecraft that makes it suitable for slower computer (reduces weather and particle effects, draw distance, and even smaller textures etc)! Hours of fun right there!
