It's not meaning he did not understand it - it means that jokingly breaking a rules on SG is still against the rules.
Look at it whis way: you know what it was, I know, probably even Lorkhan knows, but freshly registered newbie will not know and may assume it's ok to post trades on forums - and he will post a trade that is just a trade and nothing more.

I know that he understood, but in a way by closing the thread, he didn't really understood if u get what I mean. If a play on words broke the SG rules, I am very sorry, perhaps I should have mentioned it was a puzzle giveaway in the title from the start, and spoil all the fun

you should either spoile that it's a puzzle, or if you wanted a hidden one think of something that is not strictly breaking the rules. There are dozens of troll post ideas that while not breaking SG rules would serve the same purpose. From "I never win", through unpopular ideas ("EA is sooo much better than Valve!") to anything else you can come up with (like I did here getting hundreds of angry comments ;P). Just make sure that your troll topic with hidden puzzle while attracting enough attention doesn't break SG rules itself ;p

I actually went to reread the rules, the only line even remotely close was no trades in the forum, mine was obviously not, support claimed to understood my thread but him closing it proved that he misunderstood my thread title...oh well

i agree, unconventional can be really interesting...but when you consider that your unconventional one can be closed by a moderator that didn't quite understand...lol not trying to be mean or anything, just reminding you that you have simpler options, but good luck with your GA :)

Only thing I found in the rules was "The chat room or forum is NOT used for trading items/games. For your trades, visit SteamTrades." My thread was clearly not a trade, neither was the title if one bothered reading properly, but it was closed as reason given "I understand what this is but the title is a trade", in that sentence I was given a paradox, If understood it will definitely not be closed, if closed one is obviously not understanding the title.
