Ok, so I just finished playing Choice Of Robots on my phone, got it free as the Amazon App Of The Day, and I was wondering if the rest of their Interactive Fiction 'games' are just as good. Or are there other publishers doing similar work that's either better of on par?

I think what I liked most about it is it's a bit more near-realistic and less fanciful or romanciful than I expected...I'm just hesitant to drop a couple bucks on something like that unless I'm relatively sure I'll enjoy it as much...maybe if Humble put them in a bundle..

phone apps are the only thing I still pirate on a regular basis. I buy the ones I like, and delete the ones I dont. Too many compatibility issues, and shit games that you buy and still are full of ads or pay to win for me to spend my money on them without trying them first.

I usually only go for ones from Humble or Amazon, personally, because I don't pay much for them if anything

I've read a few of their stories on their website and while the full stories do in fact cost money, I got my money worth out of it. I could suggest a few for you, ones that I have tried.

Heroes' Rise is... alright and it has decent detail in its writing and pretty interactive as far as these games go.

Hero of Kendrickstone is the same deal but it's a lot longer and more in-depth.

Choice of the Deathless is pretty short but it's a good read if you like demonic-lawyers.

Psy High is, due to the theme, a bit iffy and it might just be me but I mean, you kind of have to play it to understand. I forget how to do spoilers, so yeah.

Now, these are the hosted games aka the user-created ones.

Silent Gear is a pretty neat futuristic story albeit short. It has some neat writing but as I said, it is short.

The Lost Heir: The Fall of Daria is a fantasy story with several ways of going through it, so it has variety. Again, a short story but pretty cool. If you choose it to do so, it can focus more on the romance side of the story but you can pretty much ignore that and then get a certain result at the end.

Fatehaven is a VERY text-heavy and VERY long story compared to the other user-made stories. Honestly, it's one of the best other than one of the others on the website. I'd suggest it if you don't mind a lot of reading. One of the stories that is worth a few bucks, maybe even 10. It's only 2.99 though.

Tin Star is a cowboy-western story that is decently long and has pretty cool statistic mechanics and its story is pretty interesting too. Not much to say as there's not much to expect from a cowboy story so you have to experience it yourself.

Trial of the Demon Hunter is a eh... Interesting one. Apparently there are different paths or something and I don't think it's actually 'complete' so to speak but it's... Decent, I guess. It's a fantasy story, obviously.

Unnatural is a monster-hunter story. Not sure what to compare it to since I don't really watch TV or have ever experience anything of this 'style' but it's pretty cool. It reads like TV show IIRC, some-what, and it has a nice twist to it.

Way Walkers: University is a pretty neat fantasy story. I, personally, skimmed through it. Couldn't get into it for some reason but there's uh... Two stories, I think. Both are pretty long.

Life of a Wizard. Oh boy, this is the other one that I was talking about that is very good, alongside Fatehaven. Just look at the description : Write an archmage’s autobiography in this 80-year 130,000-word interactive fiction! Man or woman? Good or evil? Bring peace on earth or rule the world?

Life of a Mobster. Honestly, kind of self-explanatory. Interesting as it has a stat system based around car, gun, money (bookies, drug dealers, etc.) and it has several endings with a few being pretty hard to get in my opinion.

So, yeah. That's it. My short nudge-nudge encouraging descriptions of each ones.

I was already kinda leaning towards the Heroes Rise trilogy, now you've added Fatehaven to my list of very-likelys :)

If you enjoy games based on text storytelling, I rate 80 Days highly.
