One HL every year, and each year they will tell us "This, this is where all our efforts lead us, this will be the best game in series" and then we get HL4: Ghosts

Well, at least the gameplay would be decent.

I've played several games. Half-Life gameplay was the best. Source engine is just amazing, I hope Source 2 would make its ancestor proud.

4A Games... because Metro: Last Light was the best single-player FPS since Half-Life 2.

If half-life ever gets its license sold to any company of any kind(which Valve already said it won't happen). I bet %100000 the game wil get ruined definitely. Simply because it's in the same universe as Portal series, Valve can't risk one of its best titles. Half-Life 3 will deliver, just wait.

I know there was an episode 4 on the make. Valve wanted it cancelled because it was not set in the same storyline(Meaning the path you're taking with Gordon), which lead them to never want to work on episodic gaming again. Or maybe they just weren't planning to release a third episode, which will make a fourth a total non-sense. There are a lot of theories and speculations about this, but we will never know because Valve doesn't say.

P.S: If another company ever gets the license, I'd like it to be Gearbox because they made one hell of a job with the expansion packs(Blue Shift and Opposite Force).

Outsourcing the third game always works great

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_III
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bubsy_3D (okay, that was technically the fourth game)

Outsourcing in general rarely works
Still...
Postal III
If you give your game to a developer called TrashMasters, you got what you asked for

Bubsy 3D
they are now called Bend Studios, responsible for the Syphon Filter games

FlatOut_3

The atmosphere, the creativity, the final result we all work towards and are always proud of: We're working with a very tight team who have been working together for over a decade, carrying an invaluable amount of experience along the way. Who starts working at Team6 rarely wants to leave Team6: so we must be doing something good :)

and don't think things have improved in recent years either:

The third one in the Boom series got delayed by a whole year, rumoured due to big redesigns to prevent this branch of the franchise from pulling a suicidal hat-trick
