Question as title.
In details:
I have a game from let's say, Humble Bundle, that's not so important for me, so I give it away. But I like to take chances, so I enter a GA for the same game. Is that against the rules?
And a very short (~1hour) compulsory GA.

The thing against the rules is entering Your own GA. And that's why the web doesn't allow this. :)

That would be a little schizophrenic :D
I don't always enter a GA....but when I do, it's my own GA. :)

Its fine to do it.
It's like breaking up with your girlfriend and then going for her identical twin sister. No harm done... wait what!?

And then taking them both at the same time :P

That's more like in process of becoming an asshole so your current gf'll dump you in a time while at the same time flirting with her twin sister.

Well they could also swap identities, then you'd be tricked.

And if you win a giveaway from a guy winning your giveaway, you both can redeem your own copies without ever contacting.

While it's not against rules, the question remains: Why do you want to win a game you don't want?

Yes, I was asking the same question from myself, but then my boss said: "Don't get that philosophical, and BTW stop talking to yourself and work..." So I didn't find the answer...this will remain a mystery.

Then give it a thought when you get back home. Taking stuff just because you can is, well, not nice

Maybe it's the excitement of gambling. Or whatever...you can also think it this way: you give higher chances for others, because keeping the game for yourself is 100% for you only, bot 0% for others. Giving it away is 0.x% :)

Then gamble for what you really want, winning is soo much sweeter then.

Think not about giving a chance, but making someones day better. If you win, you end up with a game you don't want and satisfaction from winning. Someone else could be happy for days from playing that game. Just a food for thought.

Never thought there'd be someone considering the question seriously.

No worries there.
I was serious with the question, but never thought someone would consider it so much.
