So I'm flying Berlin > Washington DC in a few days and would like to have something interesting to play on the trip. I can get most games available on IOS (I have an iPhone 4s) and some android ones. Recently I've been playing 10,000,000 and Total War Battles but I beat 10,000,000 and Total War keeps crashing so I need something new. Anyone got ideas for mobile games that will keep me entertained for longer periods of time than the average mobile game?

If you haven't already, get a copy of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The Blockheads is a pretty awesome free game, similar idea to Terraria. You can have up to four blockheads in a world, and you grow food for them to eat and build a neat house and all that jazz. Addictive.

I'd also suggest EDGE, Battle Cats (free), Little Inferno.. Also a neat little game that's worth checking out is Nimble Quest, it's like a cross between Snake and a top-down RPG.

I really enjoyed Nimble Quest. Seconded.

I would also like to add Knights of Pen & Paper to the list, among many others I still have installed on a 3gs.

Infinity Blade, Infinity Blade II, Sorcerer 1/2/4/5 (3 was never translated from japanese), Puzzle Quest II, Doodle God, Doodle Devil.

iOS versions of Street Fighter IV, Street Fighter IV Volt, Street Fighter X Tekken Mobile, King of Fighters-i, King of Fighters-i 2011. Fighting games can be a little fiddly on a touchscreen until you get used to not pushing as hard as you would with a gamepad. Once that happens, they're quite good.

The mobile version of Monster Hunter controls very well for a mobile game, let alone for a game that relies so much on timing. As far as content, imagine if they took the regular Monster Hunter games and stripped it all down to the boss fights, the shop, and the crafting.

iOS versions of Final Fantasy 1-5 and Final Fantasy Tactics are available, but overpriced when compared with other mobile games. If mobile game creators all priced their games according to how much gameplay they contain, 90% of what is currently out there would still cost 0.99 USD. Everything by Square Enix would still be in that 10% that can be found for 4.99 to 14.99 USD.

osu!stream is a really good game. I don't know if I'd call it "long," it's a music game (It's an homage to Elite Beat Agents, or it's Japanese version Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!), but I've played it a lot. It's free to download and it comes with 5 songs, extra packs of four songs cost between $1 and $3.

Also, Telltale has ported most of its more recent games to iOs, and those are pretty good and long.

For iPhone, get Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.
For Android, get osu!droid, which is not to be confused with the original osu!, which is made by peppy. The android version is made by Pesets.
