So I'm flying Berlin > Washington DC in a few days and would like to have something interesting to play on the trip. I can get most games available on IOS (I have an iPhone 4s) and some android ones. Recently I've been playing 10,000,000 and Total War Battles but I beat 10,000,000 and Total War keeps crashing so I need something new. Anyone got ideas for mobile games that will keep me entertained for longer periods of time than the average mobile game?

Beat Hazard (if you have plenty of music)
Plants vs. Zombies
install SCUMMVM and run old DOS adventure games

Unfortunately all my music is on my nano. I'll be sure to check out PvZ though.

Beneath a Steel Sky is freeware now (and I believe they ported it to iOS/Android), go play it now!

Anomaly?
Or install an emulator and play Fire Emblem, you'll get hours of fun and frustration.
I don't know many games for smartphones, cuz I don't have one :(

Book recommendations work too as long as I can get them in English. Been reading some of the Witcher novels as well as Carl Hiassen's new book "Bad Monkey".

XCOM is a bit pricey, but would fit the bill.

Fairway is free (ish) and is a great variation on Faerie Solitaire (and better, IMO). If that's your bag, you could do a lot worse :)

Already have XCOM on PC and it's a bit too pricey to get another copy.

Puzzle Quest II is another nice variation on the "match 3" theme :)

Plants vs Zombies is my personal favorite. You can also try some of the Bloons games or The Creeps for tower defense, or Badland if you like platformers. Snuggle Truck and Sushi Cat are fun too.

Anomaly is awesome. Rayman Jungle Run is fun but often frustrating. Cut The Rupe series and Pudding Monsters are good puzzles (especially if you want to three start/crown the levels like I do). Organ Trail is mobile, but IMO bad.

Fractal is fun! MAMC is repetitive, but I enjoy it. MX Mayhem is cool if you like games like Trials HD. Spirits is fucking harder than you would think. World of Goo difficult on mobile. SuperSuperGNES to get some classics.

It's pretty great, and kept me going for 5-6 hours?
It's fun.

Yep.

(It's like 5 bucks for the whole game)

to put in perspective, it was originally made for a retail DS game, but is now going for $5 on the app store. I love the HQ assets, and the cases are simple but fun.
