New here, Giveaway question..

Hi guys, I just got lucky and got an invite :)
Great to be part of this community, and to start my time here, I thought about doing a giveaway. Read the FAQ and all about the #P points.

But I was wondering (or take it as a suggestion), Do the Giveaway creators get points after doing a giveaway? I know people might just start making giveaways of games they don't have just to get points... but what if they get some after a successful one?

As of now, giveaway creators do not receive points, and you can only create giveaways for extra games that you may have.

Although you get no direct bonus for being the gifter, you do still get points for the giveaway creation just like with any other giveaway.

This actually happened some time ago. I remember the Russian invasion of summer '11. I saw 6 Valve Complete Packs (100p) by the same user. The ban-tanks responded fast.

After that it was changed so that a user won't receive points for their own giveaways.

Ah remembah the war. Points fell from the sky like rain, and the fields were littered with craters left by the falling banhammers. This generation don't know nothin' 'bout war, with their fancy anonymized winners and giveaway limits.
