If you trust EA after ME3 you're a damn dope.

I don't trust EA or any other AAA publisher. But that don't mean i i couldn't like Mass Effect series, is one of my favs.

You like mass effect STILL, despite the terrible piece of garbage mass effect 3 was?

ME3 in Multi was fun, but about SP we can debate.

The horribly rushed ending, the obvious laziness, the terrible writing, the advertising of DLC in your face, stuff like that.

So you didnt play it and just riding the hatewagon, okay. Thanks for the info.

Okay, here we go.

Ending - they released the so called Director's Cut that improves the ending.
What laziness exactly? That they improved the gameplay from ME2 in all aspects? Damn lazy bastards.
Terrible Writing? give examples since I had no issue with it. There were cliches and good parts just like in any other game.
DLCs - none of them are crucial unless you are a fan and even then you can live without them:

  1. From Ashes - Get additional companion from the Prothean race that dont have much impact on base game.
  2. Leviathan - uncover the origins of the Reapers - useful if you are fan.
  3. Omega - action-oriented DLC that got no impact on the base game.
  4. Citadel - obvious fanservice.
So none of the DLCs are crucial to the plot of the main story.

Now.. what are your arguments if you have any?

It's obvious that no matter what i bring up you're going to ignore,so i'll say this,if you enjoy the game, fine, good for you,but i personally felt that mass effect 3 ruined 1 and 2 retroactively.

You are yet to say anything on the matter which shows that you probably didnt play it to begin with.
You dont give examples to compare it to ME1 and 2.. just "its bad" and call it a day.

Eh,on second thought maybe i am riding the hatewagon a bit,but it's hard not to when the whole internet was up in arms over the ideal,I've played mass effect 2,and heard so many "it's terrible" and "it'll ruin your experience" that i've tried to avoid playing the game altogether.

Well 1 thing that ME2 do better than ME3 is the amount of companions and less fetch quests.

Also there are issues when you import ME2 save in ME3 in terms of your character customization.

And most of people were up in arms because of the ending which I understand since after spending 70-80 hours per playthrough(ME1-2-3) and then only different color ending its kinda a shame.

When comes to DLCs, you need Arrival and The Shadow Broker DLC in ME2 to connect the dots between ME2 and 3.

Writing, well in details may feel lazy but plots for different main quest end up with deciding the fate of species.
As said, gameplay wise ME3 is improvment over ME2.

Whoa. That was an unexpected plot twist.

I dunno about the internet- but I recall my friends that own it, enjoying it without concern (to the contrary, they lamented that there wasn't more to play)- and critical reviews are all at 9/10+.

Moreover, the only concrete complaint I ever heard was "the ending was bad"; the 'rest of the game is so bad it ruins the series' isn't something I've heard anyone say before (and certainly not among my friends that enjoyed it).

As far as the ending complainers, they seem to be a small but vocal minority, like those that feel the HIMYM endings were both inadequate enough that they somehow ruined everything.
It's mostly complaining because a series has ended, from what I gather.
(Which isn't to say that there may not be some justification to the concerns, just that they're overstated.)

'course, I haven't played it either-
but nothing anyone has said has ever given me reason to doubt that I want to (rather, the opposite, going off my friends' enthusiasm over it) :)

I'd never trust mainstream "review" sites like IGN and that, they're usually always biased in one way or another, your friends claiming that they enjoyed it,that's interesting though.

I can't argue that, though I meant more that they didn't feel the overall quality had changed much.
ie, that general opinion of BOTH critics and [fans I know] didn't feel anything was significantly 'bad' about the game, or regret playing it.

Really, from what I gather, it's really just more of the same- if you like the first two games, you'll probably like the third as well. The ending may not be fantastic, but how many games can really claim they offer that?
If you want to play it, go for it!
If you don't feel it's worth playing more of the series just 'cause of a few rumors, then maybe you won't like it either way :P
In other words, if you're invested in the series, I gather that it plays just fine.

Rather, the real concern is ea never doing high sales discounts.. :X

i don't get how from ashes in not "crucial" to the main plot; without the protean explaining why they lost the war when they were far more advanced then the current cycle was it makes little sense how no species managed to call the space child god.
I didn't play the rest of the DLC since i the game was really poor IMO. The ending, most quests from the mainline, the rachni making no comeback, the fact that by playing the multiplayer you could get more "resources" for the final battle, no fight against harbinger, the new chars were forgetable, the old chars barely play a role (except mordin, wrex, ashley and legion), most weapons were forgettable, the gameplay was pushed for shooter instead of returning to the roots of ME1, the fact that sheppard was never indocrinated even with the amount of exposure to reapers, ...

Dumbing down of RPG elements, combat, and basically everything in general. Poor writing, poor story, lack of difficulty but instead "casual" mode and all the rest. Game as a whole was bad, people just focused on the ending.

The end was shite. Also, no "war management". At least in the 2 you can give order for the mission, but the biggest war in the universe and it's random BS.

can't say I'm too excited about it to be honest. I'm sure I'll end up playing it eventually but it's not high on my priorities given a: my backlog, b: although all 3 games were good the quality did go downhill a bit in each instalment and c: humans... again. I'm already human in real life and there's interesting alien races I'd rather be able to play as. besides which humans are bloody mary sues in ME universe, coming out of nowhere, kicking arse in the First Contact War, being the most versatile race and saving the galaxy

nice, despite disliking mass effect 2-3 story. games were fun and had a lot of content, but they destroyed what me1 had set up.
bioware usually redeem themselves with a new game, like they did with dragon age 2 > inquisition.
