Hey I wanna buy a new survival game and i was thinking about 3 , Dayz 7 days to die and Rust.

seems like Dayz is the most popular and i really wanna know why =O
I looked into some videos and saw there are barely Zombies and all u do is walk around and hope not to get killed by other people

it seems like the game is mostly about surviving against humans and not zombies

would love to see what people we actually play it say

DayZ is actually a good game which isn't fully finished yet. Updating once a week or something like that.
DayZ and WarZ for my opinion are the best survival games, Nether aswell but it's more fantastic.
Well you can't see many zombies on DayZ only when you are in open places far away from citys. If you get inside a city or a place where are houses you'll see many of them! Hope this helped you.

I always thought dayz was free and that was why it got the hype. But then I saw it on steam yesterday for 20 bucks. Cool beans... A bad game, an "old game" at high price due to unreasonable hype. Jump on the boat. Or don't.

The mod itself was and still is free. They just decided to go for a standalone version so they can make use of a newer engine and fix/include all the stuff, that is not possible within the mod.

rust 10k players

but you should probably see what your friends are playing, this games shine when playing in a group.

I actually have Infestation Survivar Stories (WarZ)- and it have much more for lower price. Also actually DayZ is too expensive for me to buy it. After seeing videos with DayZ and Nether - I prefer buy Nether (when will have money for that). At least in that standalone DayZ interface is normal, not so crap as it was in Arma 2 Mod.

You can still get ARMA II: Combined Operations while it's 75% off and play DayZ mod, I assure you that you can find a lot of zombies, not only humans. That is probably the best way to understand why DayZ is so popular.

As a player of all 4 games: Rust, nether, 7 days to die, and Dayz It is safe to say that the best part about Dayz is that the devs have been upfront and honest.

All BS internet trolling aside from "it hasn't been released yet" to the ever so stupid "zombie game without zombies" to "it's buggy as hell": The devs of Dayz have been the most upfront and honest to their clients. I mean that is one of the reasons that we see the quote "We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle." on the front page of dayz.

That being said, on the fore front of all of this one of the saddest parts of dayz mod was the script kiddies and that is why many of these server issues have begone to occur. there are really three teams in the dayz pre-alpha right now: Valve, Bohemia interactive, and OVERKILL, or starbeeze. All working to aid in the ability to ensure server stability and to secure the servers so that hackers and cheaters will not be able to ruin the immersion of the game.

Dayz offers something different from all games: a real survival experience. From the dayz of when the first mod came out: when I played there were only like 1k players at the time and hacks were 3 months down the line. Most people never got to see what Dayz was. When the peak hit, every shit head kid out there were running scripts to ruin everyone's experience of the game. By trolling everyone invincibility hacks and mass killings. Also loot was everywhere so people never knew what it was like to have to crawl 3 miles to get to a hospital through zombies.

I like 7 days to die, I think the devs are missing some things and thus are making a mediocre game that could have been great. Nether is like a COD ver of Warz. Rust is just plain PVP and lacks the pure realism of Dayz. . . and the dead linger just doesn't even make the cut.

That being said all those games are good for what they are but only Dayz really hits the human element and allows for a full immersion game. It's not really hype it's a game that is offering a evolution to what games can be. Say what you want: it is fairly priced for what it will be, it will be going up in price once it is done. The game is more stable then the mod in pre-alpha and it is the few times Gabe gave out resources to help fix a game. It will be another week of bug fixing then the spawns will be put in and those of us playing it (for some reason Dayz doesn't show up in my account but I play via exe, win 8.1 bug will show up prob on Monday)are having a blast.

DayZ is reaally early in developement, but is probably the most promising of the bunch. It's riddled with bugs so far (my sole zombie enemy kinda walked through walls, bless her heart, and I wasn't able to hit her at all with my puny screwdriver, no matter what, during the 5 minute chase she gave me), has an interface and a bunch of controls that are damn near impossible to understand, and provides no info on how to use stuff whatsoever. I was bleeding like a rabid undead IV bag on its period, and the only human character I met told me that I should patch myself up by getting rags. She also told me I get that by tearing an extra shirt apart. I would have loved to tell her that I don't even know how to put stuff in my inventory because everything keeps falling out and disappearing permanently no matter what I do so far, but then I remembered that I have no idea how to fucking chat in this game.

Despite all that, it's a load of fun, especially with friends, even if you play with several people watching you mess around. It'll be hopefully more stable soon, and if these hijinks are fixed, I think it would be one of the best out there, but I think its price will also go up. Exactly the same as Minecraft so far.

The thing you're not seeing any zombies is that it's in alpha phase, zombies and loot are spawned upon the server restart, if they are killed, they don't respawn, so as loot, it's a thing to be done. They are still looking for a way to do this, since everything in this game is server-sided, which is a heavy load for the server.

Also, people talking about WarZ, yet again in this thread. WarZ is, was and will be the shittiest game ever made.

DayZ Standalone is in early Alpha right now, they don't want to have huge amounts of zombies right now or the game might crash or have very low FPS for many people. But I'm sure that as it gets updated, it will get a lot better, they are planning on adding tons of features and items, and they are working on removing bugs and making it run better. Right now, you should only buy it if you are interested in reporting bugs or things that could be added or improved and seeing the game develop. Or I guess you could buy it now and just wait, since the game will get more expensive when it enters Beta and full release.

7 Days 2 Die seems okay, haven't played it or watched much gameplay of it, so I don't really know what to say about it.

Rust is fun, as long as you don't get murdered by a shotgun bandit as soon as you spawn. But it's probably not going to be a zombie survival game, I think I saw one of Garry's updates in which he said that the zombies are just a placeholder and will be removed when they get something better.

The best way to play all these is by playing them with friends.

Oh, and WarZ is shit. Nether seems to be made by the same company, so that's most likely going to be really bad too.

Nether is like the same game but has nothing to do with WarZ. One journalist lied after fining out the same lawyer delt with the two . . . that is the only connection. Nether is still kinda dull but has potential
