First of all, I would like to welcome the new Borderlands players (and welcome back the old ones). The old ones probably know, that Gearbox has released a mobile app (iOS and Android too) called "Loot The World", which is good to scan barcodes in the house and QR codes for weapons, class mods, shields etc., but unfortunately this app is US exclusive, and there were plans to make it available for the rest of the world, until now, they didn't released it. But nothing can't be exploited or tricked. In THIS guide you will find everything neccesary to install, and run the app. Unfortunately this is for Android only (sorry iPhone users), but I can say for sure that it is working. E.g. I live in Hungary, and I can log into my SHiFT account, send items to my characters and so on. My Milka, which I got for name day is a level 42 slag SMG. One of my excercise books is a lvl 63 pistol, with 38K damage :D So scan the barcodes in your house, Loot The World!

Thanks to mogurimogu for the guide!

The first Borderlands, since when? Think Shift is for the second and other newer games like Aliens: Colonial Marines.

And Aliens didn't do much with it.

Yeah, I remember that, but that they at least mentioned it once. Think I was going to install the game for it, but they expired or something not worth remembering exactly.

It only had one or two at release, and nothing since.

Unfortunately not. Borderlands 1 never had SHiFT integration.

Old news, but I used it before without being from US, I couldn't download it directly from Play Store because for Gearbox there is no world outside US, but hopefully some guys shared it. Good App, you can scan QRCodes or Barcodes, is funny scanning Barcodes from all the stuff you have, and maybe you are lucky and a toilet paper Barcode would give you epic loot :P

I know it's old, but the only SGifts topic I found was closed already. After the 2K weekend I thought I share it, because probably a lot of people bought Borderlands 2 for 5$ / € or the GOTY for 12$ / € :)

Thanks, it's great that it works outside of the US, even in our little country :)
Legalább így első kézből tudom, hogy Magyarországon is működik :P Köszi :)

this sounds fun.

It doesn't seem to work fine, have tried scaning many barcodes but they don't work.

turn off advanced focus in app options, it helped me, because the screen was blurred and it could not scan correctly

I think it was because of illumination. Tried with and without focus and worked but have some trouble with some codes.

Yeah barcodes aren't easy to redeem, but it reads most of the QR codes very quickly
