Hi, I am having problems with a guy on Steamtrades who accuses me of scamming him while I have never talked to him, but he has via Steam chat (I had accepted his friend invite as he had asked me to do so on the Steamtrades announce's page).

He sent me a message asking me to send him another key because the one I would have first sent to me was dupe (I never sent anything to him). I found it strange, so I blocked the communication between us and removed him from my friend list

And then I just found out this guy has left me a -rep on steamtrades and accuses me of scamming him.

Is there a way to find my chat history with this guy back?

Thanks in advance for your help !

EDIT: here is his message on steamtrades:
Imgur .
He has also prevented my adding him back as a friend on Steam

You probably have an impersonator.
[EDIT] I see that there are quite a few Thomas2000 on Steam. You could add the guy who says you scammed him and ask him if he has the Steam account's link in his browser history.

I'm pretty sure he isn't: he added me and I accepted his request, and I never talked to him

Not he, but some other user on Steam.

Yeah, I know, but he would have noticed that my chat history with him was empty

And he has deleted his previous 2 messages, and in one of them he urged me to accept his friend request

Talk to him. He could trade with a impersonator, but can check his "Trade history" and will see right user link there.

I can't get the point of his doing this. Perhaps he's just sadistic.

I thought he was trying to scare you into giving him stuff until I saw the -rep picture.

Finally, I managed to have him delete his -rep and his negative messages, with me keeping the -rep on his profile.

Thanks to you all!

So you're not going to delete the negative rep you left him?

Apart from what the rules say, if person B leaves bad rep for person A because B was scammed by an impersonator of A, neither of the two deserve a negative rep. Clearly A will have to convince and explain to B that it was not him scamming, but I don't see any reason to leave a negative trail once that's solved.
