So I recently beat Primordia and it's gotten me wanting to get more point and click adventures in the same vein. I know about Telltale games, but the subject matter just doesn't appeal to me (Never got into Walking Dead and only vaguely remember Back to the Future).

Currently, I'm thinking of getting the Blackwell games, but want a couple opinions on those before getting them. Journey Down and A New Beginning both look pretty fun, too, but again, I'd like some opinions before committing.

And here's English Country Tune to thank: Gone

I'd like to suggest Ben There, Dan That and Time Gentlemen, Please. They're both solid classic style point and click adventure games with a great sense of humor.

I've played a fair amount and Deponia and Botanicula are my favorites so far.

If you're interested in Blackwell series maybe look into Resonance and Gemini Rue?

I played Journey Down and I just couldn't get into it, one of the few games I stopped playing with very little intentions of playing it again (although mostly for subject matter)

Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers (greatest game of all time)

Kings Quest Collection (heard works better on GoG)

Space Quest Collection (heard works better on GoG)

Daedalic Bundle

LucasArts Adventure Pack

Monkey Island bundle

Leisure Suit Larry

Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! pack

I also suggest joining the Children of the Adventure Renaissance group as they are very good at finding hidden gems in the massive Steam library.

I wish Steam would create a "Point-and-Click" category like GoG has since "Adventure" is way too broad.

I heard A New Beginning is kind of eh, but how's The Dark Eye? Looks kind of DnD inspired, which is only vaguely of interest to me...

I haven't played those two games, but I enjoyed Deponia and Edna & Harvey a lot. Get those three and skip the bundle if the other two don't interest you. It'll be cheaper.

But I can't stress how amazing Gabriel Knight is.

I think Gabriel Knights: 2 > 3 > 1

So I caved and also got the Telltale Humble Weekly sale, but I barely remember the Back to the Future movies at all... Should I rewatch them before playing the game? Or is it just the movie as a pnc adventure game and watching them would spoil the puzzles?

It's an entirely new story using the BTF characters, it's wholly playable without having ever seen the movies at all.
I'd say just jump right into it, the control scheme for moving the characters is maddeningly frustrating but if you can get past that their quite enjoyable.

FWIW, my vote goes to The Longest Journey as the best point and click adventure game ever made.

You'd be pretty good with any Wadjet Eye games, seeing as you liked Primordia so much. I don't think I've played a game of theirs that wasn't at least decent.

Also don't pass up The Walking Dead. I really hate the licence and it's one of my favorite games.
