Unfortunately, more and more people are opting for security over freedom, which has become the defining choice of this generation, for better or for worse, at least in terms of the grand political scheme. Whether or not that leads to the complete degradation of our rights as a whole is debatable but it is a rather sad progression to reflect upon.

We tend to add criminals shot by police and suicide to the list of people killed by guns. It tends to skew statistics.
