I wanted to play a coop game with my fiancee, but I just can't seem to find anything that would be suitable for her, as she's a novice gamer. If there was a way to filter the games in Steam that would probably help me, but couldn't find anything like that.

I'd be really grateful if someone went through my library and dropped few propositions. I'm looking for a fairly simple, coop game, could be a shooter (I feel like those are the easiest). If you have a really good idea, but it's not in my library, yet, just let me know, if it's not that expensive I might buy 2 copies.

And the GA:

EDIT: We don't have controller though, 2 PCs only.

+1 for Battleblock Theater, highly recommended. It's very fun and enjoyable game. Starts rather easy then gets quite challenging.

I didn't really like Battleblock theater, haven't played multiplayer, but single player, was kinda... monotonous. Still need to try Castle Crashers

Co-op or local co-op. The lego games are pretty straight forward and fun. Get her a controller - this will limit any confusion with too many buttons. Shooters can make some people dizzy. The Trine series is also a blast together.

Rather co-op than local co-op, we have 2 PCs and no controllers. Might try Trine then, thanks.

Brothers a tale of two sons is a single-player game where you control two brothers...

But with one person on the computer keyboard and another person on a controller hooked to the same computer you can each control one brother by only by dividing the responsibilities using the controls for controlling one of them. I played this way and had a blast with my 9 year old son!

I've played it w/out a controller, it's still a great fun/or not fun but nice to play!

Hammerwatch is wonderful game for first-timers. Full controller support, actions can be rebinded (at least with keyboard) and all you have is: 4 directions, drink potion, and 4 kinds of attack. You can turn on handicaps (shared lives, 1 life, etc) or actually make the game easier - double damage, hp regeneration, endless lives. I think this is a simple but enjoyable co-op game which is fitting for literally everyone from the very start to being superpro in the game because of the fine-tuning you can do there.

ibb & obb - Best Friends Forever Double Pack. She will adore it. It is very simple, the controls are move and jump. It is really coop.
OR
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, very interesting game, but it is a little more complicated.

If asking us a favor involving going through your 1000+ game library, it would be polite to offer a [link](http://steamcommunity.com/id/slowacki/games/?tab=all) ;P

Torchlight 2 and Lord of the Rings: War in the North seem the best ones from your library (that haven't already been mentioned), at a quick glance.

Ibb & Obb and Trine (2) are my main co-op recommendations, these days.

isn't "Trine" aimed at 3 players?

Nope. Plays just as well with 2 as with 3- or rather, somewhat differently. 2 players is a slightly more cozier, more teamwork-oriented affair, while 3 tends to be slightly more fast-paced and goofy.

For something intended to be played with someone you're close with, 2 player mode works just fine.

It's a fantastic game, really. Definitely recommend it.

3 is the maximum number of people who can play. If there are less than 3 players, they just have to shift/change their character while playing, when the need arises.
EDIT: 3 minutes late :)
