Haha nah I am just saying it like it is.Have Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops II on steam and I have spent a fairly good time on all of them,so you can't say I am saying it just like that.MW2 was my first game of CoD and I liked it very much,but once I played the ORIGINAL,the EPIC Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 1,I abandoned this game.Same for black ops 2.World at war was more or less like CoD4,but I decided to cut it some slack because it was still good(have all the other CoD's on XBOX) and intro'd zombies for the first time.(Ironically,I don't like zombies xD)

I only buy the Treyarch games. However, I didn't even play Blops 2 for more than 5 hours so I'm not even going to be buying the Treyarch ones either. Call of Duty games just aren't that good anymore. World At War was excellent, Black Ops was okay with the old zombie maps, and Black Ops 2 was just terrible.

Meh. The last cod this group made was MW3 and that one was the worst. They also confirmed its the same netcode that black ops 2 used, and that was also the worst in call of duty history. BF4 will be my choice of shooter. I am so bored of call of duty but I can understand that special place it holds in a gamers library as a mindless, straight forward, arcade shooter that you don't have to invest much into to have fun. I only buy the Treyarch flavor of call of duty every other year though. Activision lost me when all the good people left, and they made MW3.

I have only played COD on consoles, and you seam to play on PC which might explain at least in part explain the different experiences with the games. Of course personal taste play a big role, but I must ask how the multiplayer netcode is on the PC because on the xbox it has become a noticeable problem even to casual gamers.

Nah, you are right. Black Ops 2 has really awful netcode on the PC too, and the PC version of MW3 is one of the worst games ever made in the story of ever.

Sounds perfect to me. I've heard most CoD games are bloated. Any recommendation on one that's well optimized that I can -- don't laugh -- play with a controller?

Not for PC COD games. I know MW3 doesn't support controllers so I don't think those made by IW will support it but I believe Treyarch supports it since I was able to use my controller on BLOPS2. Wasn't that fun though since you're being mobbed by enemies everywhere and a controller sucks when there's no autoaim which makes it take forever to aim correctly with the sticks especially with sniper rifles IMO.
And when I say support, I don't mean using a third party program. I mean you just plug it in, and the game recognizes the controller and you can use it just like that.

I never pre-ordered a Call of Duty game, some of the bonuses on those games are nice but I just can't ever bring myself to pre-ordering them. I usually end up buying them on release day/week or the Holidays. Chances are I'll buy it on the 360 and play the campaign and try to get myself to finally start getting into online multiplayer before my nephew "borrows" it from me and plays multiplayer nonstop for months.

Are you kidding? Console releases are where old games go to die. How many people are still playing old AAA FPS games on consoles? XboX/PS2 era? Virtually none? The exact same games will have servers running with players on PC.
2 examples form my library: SW:BF2 and Halo 2 - both dead on console, hell I think they shut down the servers anyway because no one played. They both still have players any time of day with dedicated servers to boot - on PC.

I bought Ghosts as a pre order and it is now in my library, just sitting there with that stupid grin. It'll haunt me all of september and October until its Nov 5. Think I pre-ordered too early :S
