Might as well pay the $30, all other cheaper options are mostly second-hand products.

$30 is the standard price unfortunately. Try ebay or garage sales or something if you must go lower. Or I got mine at Sam's Club for $30 but it came with Bayonetta for 360. If you have an xbox or a friend with an xbox that deal makes it a bit more worth it.

if your looking cheaper, then go 2nd hand... otherwise you will be lucky to get lower then $30 unless the store has a sale, if there is no rush, wait until xbox one has been released as it should have a drop due to sales reduction right after then (if you're Australian like me then you are lucky to be getting it for $30, mine costed $50 for wired and my wireless costed $99)

I wish I could get one for $30. Everywhere I go it's fucking wireless controllers.

wireless would be cool too...but im forgetful....so there would most likely be a lot of situations where the batteries are dead when i need it, so i figured i should just go wired...

^^^^^^im soooo glad im not australian...have an australian friend...its crazy what they charge for games over there...

also, 2nd hand is what im looking for...doesent need to be brand new...

but even at that, ive googled around and theyre still all nearly $30...like, enough that its not even worth it to buy it used because a couple more dollars will get me a brand new one..

i also had a gamestop employee tell me that only official microsoft 360 controllers will work on a pc, and that third party ones(like NYKO products for example) wont work...
can anyone confirm this? because Walmart has third party 360 controllers right up the street for 20 bucks brand new right now as we speak...

Official ones will work across all games that support controllers, due to most games having the implementation for them.
On the other hand, third party ones may work on some games, but there will be games they won't work.

Avoid 3rd party. If for no reason other than the shoddy build quality that seems to be common over most third party brands.

That guy was full of it. Third party controllers work just fine. I am currently using an afterglow controller i bought from walmart.

Never rely on advice from a gamestop employee. I once asked if they had a composite video cable for a xbox. the guy didn't even know what it was.

I'm also using a 3rd party controller and it works beautifully. Mine's the Power A Mini EX and it was just plug and play. Only game that doesn't recognize it even though it should is Bastion.
