I plan on starting streaming some games soon because I'm getting a better internet connection.

And I was wondering which streaming site you guys prefer? I've heard good and bad things about both.

Also would you be interested in playthroughs of singleplayer games (bioshock, batman, cave story etc) or would you be more interested in multiplayer/coop games (dota2, tf2, portal 2, ...) ?

One more question, would you watch streams without commentary but with irc/chat interaction?

Cheers

Livestream.com
PROS: Procaster (their software) is extremely easy to use.
CONS: It's not centered around gaming and the free channels have TON of limitations, I'd stay away if I were you.

Own3d.tv
PROS: Alot of gaming pros use it..
CONS: It's far from finished in my opinion.

Twitch.tv
PROS: All gaming, all the time, high quality streams, amazing community.
CONS: You kind of need a licensed copy of XSplit for this one (and maybe own3d.tv as well) but its well worth it in my opinion, XSplit is some amazing software!

I already have an Xsplit license so that's not a problem. Cheers for the comparison!

The twitch.tv CON is invalid. You can also stream without using xsplit. I use FMLE.

Having no idea of streaming websites ill jump to the second part of the thread.
I think what really makes a stream good its the imput of the person playing the game, so id say comentary its a must.
Then you have to ask yourself why are you streaming or what is what you are good at, are you funny? you have years playing lots of games? maybe you are really good at them?
Based on the questions above you should have a better idea of what to stream, i find boring looking at bad players do multiplayer, i find useless reviews by people that have only played the big games of the last 5 years, etc.
In my particular opinion i always enjoy when the streamer is playing something for the first time, or maybe trying some obscure indy game and giving feedback about it, but thats me.
Good Luck!

I generally started streaming because I could, then some friends wanted m to so basically it was smaller streams. Then my internet got horribad and I took a long break now I wanna try streaming on a larger scale not just for friends.
I have a huge list of games on steam and my plan is to stream all of them (full or partially) at some point! So I'd have both streams of me playing a game for the 1st time or those I played before.
Thanks for your input! Much appreciated.
