far cry 2, guns too loud

is this normal? in my game guns sound far more loud than the rest of the game, but there is no way to lower the volume because in the options i can only lower the master sound.

mine sound too loud, if i bring the volume enough to hear all the ambient sounds ok, the sawn off shotgun shounds like a nuke blowing in my house.

Ever shot a real gun? They're fucking loud too. I think Far Cry 2 was going for that realistic sort of feeling. But I can't say for sure as I haven't finished it yet.

who gives a crap about realism when you have to put your volume to 10% and not hear the rest of the sounds that they probably wasted tons of money in.

Almost every game I get has the sound mixed horribly (imo). Obviously I get that guns are far louder than people talk, but there's nothing more annoying than not being able to hear dialogue in games because the music and sound effects blast over the top. Games need proper volume sliders. If you find a fix for this, please post it here as I will probably be playing Far Cry 2 sometime soon.
