I just finished the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam and I beasted it. Well, the morning section anyway. Afternoon not quite as much. I'm a bioengineer, which doesn't have its own section so I had to take the "Other disciplines" general one which had all of 3 biology questions on it...

Things:

  1. The reference manual has an index. I didn't realize this until late in the afternoon section. I know there were several questions I had to makeshift solutions for because I couldn't see the right subsection. Don't let that happen to you!
  2. The specialized sections have higher passing rates than the general afternoon. In my test room the only people who left early had specialized sections - all the generals needed the full time. Stick with what you know!
  3. If you haven't been introduced to engineering economics through your education/employment, (I hadn't) take a day to learn it. It's a really simple concept, but they had a LOT of questions that all essentially came down to reading the table and multiplying a few times. Once you understand the basic concept you're done - this would be the most efficient place to study if you start from 0. (I actually figured out how it worked during the test, though too late to fix my responses from the morning)
  4. Don't worry! It is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

For the engineers, prospective engineers and all others: A game about building stuff!

If people have questions about the FE or other stuff, feel free to ask

Even though I have nothing to do with engineering(except that i have a resourceful mind) I thank you for your advices.
