Arma 2 or Arma: Gold Edition

i'm going to buy one of them but i dont know which one is better

Arma 2 operation arrowhead is a really good game if you play it on wasteland servers. i put 90 hours into it and i still enjoy it. Only problem with arma 2 is getting 60 fps and good looks but if you have a good pc that shouldnt be a problem. Havent played Gold edition so cant help ya with that one :)

Don't buy the Arma 2 game, get OP Arrowhead aswell. Buying only Arma 2 you won't be able to play Multiplayer, since every server switched to either OP Arrowhead or Combine Operations.
So i suggest you buy http://store.steampowered.com/sub/4639/ becouse you need both, Arma 2 and OP Arrowhead to play multiplayer.

Arma: Gold edition is really old and noboy plays it anymore, is good for singleplayer tho.

Yes, you also need to start up both games before playing MP (i think that is still the case) if you wish to play DayZ or have steam recognize it as Combinet Operations.
After that, you can simply play the game via OP arrowhead.
