It has 16537 Online Players - 24-hour peak [sauce: http://steamcharts.com/app/218620 ]. Its not really that much considering thats everyone in the world and im from europe and i gotta use VPN since im in a college dormitory.
Is it a dead game or still on going for at least 1-2 more years?

EDIT: Scores are tight lol.

Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again

Is it a dead game ?

View Results
Yes. Because a vision softly creeping, left its seeds while I was sleeping
No. And the vision that was planted in my brain, still remains within the sound of silence

That's a false dichotomy:

Is it a dead game or still on going for at least 1-2 more years

It's probably going to keep running for a while. 16k is a lot considering how many you need to play it,

well, a game that can go for 1-2 more years as a popular game and with a decent playerbase (let's say +10-15k players) is, in my opinion at least, worth the buck. I dont really buy singleplayer games, because i could just "pie-rate=3.14159265359" them and the multiplayer ones, im not really able to. Therefore i pay only for multiplayer based games and mostly for the ones with a solid playerbase.

And so, a dead multiplayer game for me would be a game with <10k players online

Yeah admitting here you pirate, generally frowned upon.

Piracy aside, since you can clearly afford to buy games you want to play (you have 400+ games including AAA games and like 7 alts).

$5 for a game you can play for even 6 months (hundreds of hours) is pretty cheap.
As long as the concurrent number is over 1000 you should be able to play it without issue (100 or less will probably mean the skill floor will be too high for new players).

who said i can afford stuff lol? I never added more than 5 euro on the steam account. I've been trading all the steam trading cards i had for other games. Now the cards are continuously losing their value. I also had to withdraw what and how much i could from what i had to pay my fees for the college. With only the basic edition of the game i hardly would be able to have fun. I'd need GOTY edition to actually enjoy the game... Either way, im not investing money on games im not playing. I did that with a few. I regret everything.
[Why did i buy 7 days to cry, Black Pups 2 or Modern Warfare... why God]

I bought it 3 months ago. And it worth all 5 euro I spent in it. And I am from EU too and there are still lots of servers. Game will be still alive I think for 2-3 years.

There's no server, there are rooms. Players start their rooms so other players can join.

I haven't played it for a while, but I did spend almost 500h on it. Great game if you have a friend/friends to play with. But as I said, I haven't been playing in a while, so I can't say much of the playerbase. 16,500 player peak sounds nice though, and I believe they're gonna continue the support until the end of 2017, so I don't think this game is gonna die anytime soon. So yeah, I'd recommend it.

It's a no-brainer when it's on sale. For $5/5 euro or whatever currency, the game is a steal considering the amount of fun you could get out of it. Don't bother with the DLCs if you don't want to fork out any more cash but if you do, I highly recommend getting the Gage Courier Mod and Shotgun Pack (although HE rounds won't stun a Bulldozer anymore).

Oh, and I don't think you need to worry about the game dying anytime soon. IIRC, Overkill said that they'll support the game for another 2 years (until the end of 2018) with new contents.

It'll not die in a very long time. You can play PD2 effectively with 1,000 players online as well. People, who have been fearmongering that PD2 is dead are idiots. Don't listen to them.

When pd2 dies, pd3 will rise.

I mean, PD3 will rise and.... PD2 will still be there. Of course some people will migrate over, but most won't. People, who like PD2 don't usually have high-end PCs :D

I still play it now and then, just know that when you buy the GOTY edition you still don't own half of the DLC. As long as it has over 5000 ppl playing it isn't dead. Beware that game can become boring rather quickly because you will end up doing the same missions over and over again.

I wanted to buy this too.
i asked my friends - i saw they play this, "Is it good?". And they told me that they don't know, cause they never played, they just idle for cases. So i don't want this game anymore - just have no friends to play together ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
