I still cant believe what I just read.. I just stared at my computer screen in shock.

Huh that is weird, i just listened most of the Ragnarok last night. I feel like that guy who made Macho Man Randy Savage cookies as a foreshadowing to his death the next day

This makes me so sad. They toured here in Australia a few years ago, but I didn't go see them. Then Flattus Maximus died and I was sad then that I didn't get to see their full lineup. They just toured here last month but because of money reasons I didn't get to make that either. Such a shame, such a great band and I hear they put on an amazing show.

This sucks, they were my favorite band. Last time they were in my area I didn't have the cash to go see them. Now I may never see them and even if they do continue on its not going to be the same without Dave.

GWAR - Sick of You (My favorite song of theirs)
GWAR - Road Behind
GWAR - Wayward Son

I don't understand why people are so shocked when famous people die. They are not gods. They are people. They can get sick, they can overdose, they can have accidents and so on and so forth. People idealize their idols way too much.

That being said, may he rest in peace.

I would assume for the same reason that they are shocked when a loved one dies? I'm not saying the connection there is anything near equivalent, but for some people, musicians or other artists who have influenced them do occupy an important space in their lives and when someone like that dies it can come as a shock.

Yeah but I have a feeling fans think their favorite artists are gods and they can't die. Life is very fragile. For everyone.

Why are we surprised? For a few reasons...

As far as I know Dave did not do any drugs at all. So far the police have found no drugs in the house he was living in and found dead in. Its going to be a while before we know what actually killed him, but I have a feeling it was not drugs.

Within the last 3 years another member of the group died, again no drugs were involve, it was a heart condition and he was only 34.

Dave is only 50. If any of my family who don't do drugs suddenly died at 50 years old I would be very shocked.

That's very sad, may he rest in peace. I was fortunate to see them once live at Sziget festival :)

I've seen Gwar about 35 times since 1994. They've been my favorite band since I was 14. I wish this was a joke.
