So yeah, sitting in a train gets pretty boring sometimes. I have this laptop sitting in front of me waiting for some code to be inserted. My head is empty and bored as hell -that's when you awesome folks come in!

I need some programming ideas. I like making practical programs that I actually use. For example here's a few I've made: FirewallGUI, Shutdown Timer, Advanced music shuffler and so on...

Thanks for all the mind blowing ideas in forehand!

For those who are inrerested, I use Visual Basic 2010 express. (judge me if you want, it's not that bad) It's a nice and fast way to make a pretty interface.

Make a program that picks a random Steam game from the list - kind of "Recommend me what to play" button :D

Welp, it would be nice! I will look into the html support of VB2010 and get back into it. :)

There's a lot of stuff that already exists. That doesn't mean it can't be a fun challenge to make it yourself =)

So I looked into that, I got an in-program browser working, got the html code out from it, but because Steam uses Java in their browser, it doesn't show me the games. (VB doesn't seem to like Java) :/ Well, killed couple of my minutes, so thank you, kind stranger! :)

Twould be nice if it not only randomly chooses games for you to play, but also is more likely to choose games that you've played the least/or haven't played in long while. Add to that a way of dismissing certain games (I have a ton that I wouldn't play even when suggested) or a "What sort of game are you in the mood for?" option (long serious, short arcade, timewaster, casual, hardcore, etc) and It'd be much more useful. .... .. .

... if after all that you still don't know what to make. Try making a game? :) CHALLENGE!

Make something where when I think of a song, but I can't remember what it is, just how it goes, I can hum into my mic and it will tell me what the name of that damn song is. As far as I know, this has not been done yet, and it's long overdue. I mean, come on, it's 2014.

(I'm sure that something requiring detailed audio analysis and access to a huge database of audio profiles of songs is well beyond what you're looking for, but I can dream . . . . )

I like the idea, but there's a reason why there's only one on the market. People hate physics. X)
