Rocket League with one or more friends (+ Skype) is perfect.

Of those I only played Ark, Terraria and Broforce (Local coop though) but to be fair I'm not a big fan of these kind of "Survival" games.
I'd rather play through coop campaigns with friends.

I'd chose Terraria right now, because I haven't played Ark enough to judge it.

Pretty much any game with multiplayer is better with friends.

I voted for Broforce, it's really funny (didn't try online multiplayer yet, because I have no friends who have it), but I would vote for Starbound too. The only problem with Starbound is that there aren't free official servers, so someone has to run the server and has to be online for others to play in that universe.

what games do you guys like to play? Just PC games? How many friends? If just one other friends, games like Lara Croft is fun. Magicka is fun too. You can do HL 2 co-op. With more friends like 4 players you can do Payday and Payday 2.

Don't Starve, Rocket League, Battleblock Theatre, The Jackbox Party Pack, and Worms games are all a lot of fun multiplayer - especially with mics (though they're not survival exploration).

Magicite is fun but the multiplayer is a bit problematic since it's easy to push enemies into one another. Still worth a go if you already own the game, just need to spread out a bit.

To be honest, I don't have PC-gaming friends, so I'm mainly doing singeplayer (or things like PoE on my own). Do play with friends on the X1 though...

Seems don't starve together is the most recommended (so I might go back and have a try again),
followed by terraria (played alot in the past, but maybe I will go back to check in again)
and magicka (tried to recommend magicka to my friend but he doesnt like the art though, so I might try convincing him again)
