I was just listening to some game music on Youtube and it surprised me how it could still hit me right in the feels, even many years after playing the game.

Silent Hill 3 - You're Not Here (Opening Theme)
Chrono Trigger - Frog's Theme
Final Fantasy X - To Zanarkand

I know that from my childhood, the track sounds like little bit Halo. :D

There are a few more, but I think this was the most sentimental one.

The whole soundtrack is good, it really conveys the feeling so well.

You will not regret playing it. It's so emotional.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S04SV-g-E_c From Mortyr 2 Especially everything from 2:26 onward, that leitmotif followed me all my life popping up in my dreams and I hope when I kick the bucket it will be the song I hear last too

This two music defined me who I am today in terms of my music taste, most likely wont get 1% of the love from anyone else than what I have towards them

This is a really easy question for me. This music right here makes me feel so weirdly sad/lonely/reminiscent that I can't even play the game alone. It's amazing how nostalgic it is--even though I minecraft didn't take up much space in my childhood. Takes me back to the simple Xbox 360 live days where I'd build villages with friends and people who I'd just met (where each person would get one house in it), and get griefed/grief. Minecraft wouldn't be minecraft without this music imo.

Oh yeah. Brings me back to playing during the alpha, before they added multiplayer. Used to spend hours just wandering around exploring caves and getting lost in the map, before I learned to mark my way back with torches ;)

Since you brought up SIlent Hill: the intro is incredibly evocative (despite the low res);
When you realize how Zia's and Zuff's themes, which are awesome each on their own, mix PERFECTLY, in Bastion's End Theme.... That gets me.
Anything in Hollow Knight will do, but City of Tears almost makes me cry.
And the System Shock intro theme... yeah, I am that old.

My first PC didn't have a sound card for several years, so for me this is the true nostalgic version of your last theme: Warning: PC SPEAKER

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkuPY3sweZQ - if you haven't heard about this before - they did a full concert, awesome stuff. :)

I ran into this cool cover the other day, sure it could be mixed better but whatever, it's still nice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyZQorpT-8I

Thanks, I didn't know that.
As for this cover, it sounds to me a bit like CoF. Not bad, but I think the original version is better.

Np. I assume CoF stands for Cradle of Filth, I've never listened to them though.

Anyways yeah, that orchestral concert is pretty cool.

As far as non metal covers go- Heroes 3 Rampart - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQr6NVUOtw0 - this guy is fantastic, he uses different instruments, wind chimes, flutes, guitars, mandolins.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCHglIcvNus - fingerstyle guitarist (he actually played this exact song in the Heroes Orchestra concert that I first linked) - he does great arrangements

Probably music from the SNES era, Ace Attorney, some N64 as well. Mainly Nintendo games come to mind.

I've played the first and the third games. The whole atmosphere of the first game with the score and the blizzard is just perfect. I enjoyed the 3rd game, but it wasn't the same. Still need to give the second one a playthough.

Definitely, it was the best in the series. The first was great but the second absolutely brilliant - story, design, music just fit perfectly.

The third was ok but not really an MP game, more like a shooter they used the franchise for...
