RU+CIS Gift ???

So i bought Dying Light and i saw that in my account "Dying Light RU+CIS Gift". Please tell me this is not VPN or anything that will get me a ban. In their site it was just Dying Light not RU+CIS. Please help !

EDIT: if its indeed ru, it will simply not work, if its row, will be added to your library

It was a Steam Gift, i just accept it and now it's downloading. Only the name is what makes me nervous. Should i be worried or is nothing ? I'm afraid I'm going to get banned or i wont be able to play co-op or multiplayer.

you won't get banned, because you didn't use VPN to activate it. worst that can happen is retroactive lock - in this case game will become useless - you won't be able to launch it, play it or even add non-locked copy to your library - if that happen you will have to ask Steam Support to remove old locked copy from your library and buy the new game copy from your own region.

they never publicly said they've been banned because using VPN. people do bitch... in their private account. then make new account, then re-VPN everything again.

It all depends on the game's settings (see Steamdb).

Some RU/CIS games will happily activate, download and play outside of the region, without the need for any VPN skullduggery. I have several on my account from trading or SG wins.

It may be in your library and you're able to download it but you may not be able to play it. It's happened to me before.

What should i do, other than demand refund from the site since they never mentioned it was RU+CIS. Should i contact steam support or wait and if i shall contact steam support what would i say ?

Steam support won't help you, if you cannot activate the game and cannot play it, then you should demand the site where you bought it. If you can play it, then no problems, you should know the risk buying on sites like G2a,

No, the site is called gk4.me and i think it's german and when i bought it there no RU+CIS in the description or anywhere. They had a problem with the keys as i saw on their fb page and they would send them a bit later. Other than the game says RU+CIS Gift in my account details i don't see any other problems yet. There are all languages in the properties and there is the pre-order bonus too.

Looks like there's a live-chat support (Top left of the main page) You could always go there and demand a refund. Chances are, in their TOS when you register they most likely said something about the region lock though. Best of luck!

Nope, nothing about RU+CIS or Steam gift in the email order confirmation or the site they just send me that steam gift and i though oh finally they send it. Once i saw that RU+CIS Gift on my account i freaked out. Live chat is not actually live, you send them an email and they "reply". I have send them three emails so far and no reply.

Guys i tested the game and it works perfectly, co-op works fine too. After all it was fine but i still worry a bit.

You can only get a "retroactive-Play Lock" so you won't be able to launch the game and play it. It's a Steam bug with the 4-pack Dying Light games so that's why You can activate the "RU+CIS" copy of the game. But if this gets fixed you will have a problem launching the game. Never buy a RU+CIS region locked Steam Gift, last year you could buy Dying Light ROW copies for 12-13 keys.. Next time buy a Gift keep it in your library and if you don't want to activate it just sell it for more and you will even get a profit from it.
