ok......... about 5 years ago when i bought my pc My VGA was a Gigabyte radeon hd 4850 everything was ok since after about 3 years that VGA broke it has a 3 year guarantee and only 3days was left... anyway gigabyte customer service changed it with a refurbished 5850 for a cost 1year after that 5850s DVi(HDMI was working) output stop working so again guarantee and this time a refurbished 5870 again for a cost.... one year after that the new 5870 stopped(stops, stop) working(the grey screen of Death)so again customer service.... but this time after some argue with people at customer service i got a new 5870 without any other costs....

But after one year and a month(about 3 days ago) the new 5870 suddenly stopped working(i was in cs:go everything was normal suddenly screen goes black and when i rebooted my pc it plays a beep ..the same beep rythm when you dont have a graphics card installed)...

And this time guarantee was expired .......(the expiration date was 25/may/2014)

i checked PSU in my pc its ok and works fine....i dont know whats wrong ......

so tell me your opinion is there some kind of Hex on my PC??

can it be from other parts?

or What?

+

now im using an old 9400GT ...and it sucks....

+

to make things clear here is my specs:

cpu:AMD phenom x4 9950

Ram:4GB patriot ddr2 800

PSU: a good 580Watts psu it might not be known in your country but this is one the best PSU brands around>> Green gp580b here is a link

and my case door(lid whatever you call it) was always open....this is my case not exactly this one but a little bit different with green brand on it...(a little bit tweaked one) here it is....

no giveaway sry but have to save for another pc....or atLeast VGA....

whats the point in guarantee if they give you a refurbished card and when you get a new one from them it works just 1 month more than the other refurbished ones????

Sounds like overheating or heat from other sources... was the computer stored in lava by any chance ? :}

I, thankfully, never had a broken video card, I had ATI 9550 in 2005, Palit ATI x1950 in 2007 and in 2012 I got a Sapphire AMD HD 7750 because x1950 couldn't keep up, but they all work just fine... I also OC'd them a bit, and I did play some over-demanding games, low-fps is a big part of my life :(

And that's my sad-not-so-long-but-still-boring story :P

Well after reading your story I came to the following explanations for this VGA killer:

  1. Your Mainboard isn't compatible with your VGA and it wont get the proper data/power/cooling etc.
  2. Your Graphics driver (should be a Catalist right?) is overclocking the VGA and it gets toastet (you won't notice it in some casses(happended to me already))
  3. Your Mainboard is damaged
I hope that I could help you
(Ps.: English isn't my main language so excuse my spelling mistakes >.<)
