Makes sense, considering the giant leak before.

It's one of the first contributor giveaways, made by cg himself. The keys were from GMG and are region locked, even though the site doesn't say so anywhere. Loko had the same problem with his giveaway. Be assured that you'll get help from them.

Another person had the same problem as you, and I know that Loko contacted support on GMG in an attempt to resolve the problem, but they still haven't replied to him when I asked last. Though it was a couple a days ago.

Dead Island had some region restriction on keys (NA/AU/RoW I think it was) so you might've gotten a key that's for another region then the one you're living in. If that is the case then there's nothing that can be done as far as I know.

GMG sold keys without notifying the customer about region restriction. I'm sure it's good policy to replace those keys with the ones that are adequate to the customers region. Or make a refund.

Maybe someone could post their receipt in Russia. But I don't think they buy games over there.

Piracy rates are said to be quite a bit higher in Russia than in places like North America.

And what does that have to do with the problem at hand? :)

Oh nothing of course, I was just explaining what Janrok was referring to. On top of that it would probably be a really bad idea to try to trick steam using some random user's receipt.

I'm sure piracy is higher over there but they way he said it would suggest that no Russian buys games. That is really inaccurate, far fetched and rather offensive. Some well known members here are Russian and even Gabe Newell himself said something along the lines of Russia now being their largest market.

I reckon you've been had, I mean look at the guy, you can't trust someone with only 2 letters in their name. "Cg", if that is his real name, is obviously trying to hide something.

I think he tried to hide the Contributor Giveaways, look at his name: "cg", he's the admin so contributor giveaways were planned from the beginning of steamgifts.com
