medic packs

medic packs i dont like bloody screen shit here's suggestion call of duty united offensive (2004) still playing it

Med Packs. I prefer not to be able to hide behind some cardboard that bullets can't pierce and regain all my HP. I also dislike the crippling of movement when low HP. It's realistic, yes. But it's a game, it's not supposed to be realistic.

I like auto regen but lately i have been liking some games with finding med packs. Playing Combat arms at the moment

Depends on the game's setting where it would make logical sense. Future w/ some kind of armored suit - Regenerating health. Contemporary or historical setting - Med packs.

Medkits for life. The other method just promotes hiding.

Medic Packs FTW. But I actually don't care that much. I really liked the halo concept of having your shields rechargeable but your actualy health can only be restored by health packs.

I like games that combine the two like Just Cause 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Medal of Honor: Airborne to name a few. (I know some of these aren't fps, but it's not exactly a common feature from what I've seen)

Basically, like a true action hero, you can take a few bullets no sweat; but too much damage requires medkits to heal.

I like medic packs.

However, Tribes Ascend has implemented something interesting. They regen health, but only after a timer. So, you won't heal during a good fight. But, if things are slow, you regen.

Med pack all the time
or a combination of both, like the shield in borderlands, or the "umbral of pain" of Deus Ex: Human revolution
but for standar FPS, like war themed FPS, or purely single-player based ones, Med pakc

Definitely Medpacks.

Both are good if you use them well.

No j/k. I like the old days better when you got to pick up medic pack. Nowadays when you're almost dead, you just have jelly all over your face or red blinking and you just got to get cover and get full health again. You're not scared for your life, but simply taking it easy. Back then when you got to pick up health packs. If you got 1 health left and no medic packs around you. You get that I'm so screwed feeling and will be scared for your life. Its more challenging.

Personally, I like none of them the best. I like it back in Rainbow Six where if you're shot, you limp, wounded, have bad aim and slower walk. No healing, no regens, just you're screwed.

Med packs implemented in a semi-realistic way would be pretty cool. As it is now, both are quite dumb. (med packs placed in every corner that makes no sense <-> fully healing after taking cover for 5 seconds)

Probably the best would be to carry limited amount of med-packs with you, and obviously use it as you would in life.
