I entered quite a lot of Mafia III GAs here since I had the game of my wishlist for a long time. As you can imagine, I was really happy when I received an email telling me that I won Mafia III (especially since it had more than 10k entries).

Unfortunately, I didn't receive it, even though the GA creator was online afterwards, both on SG and Steam. Attempts to contact him/her failed, as I have never received an answer. The key for the user's other GA, Deus Ex MD, apparently wasn't delivered either.

To be fair, I never had problems with any of the GAs I won, the longest time I had to wait for the key was maybe three days, and all of my keys worked fine. I never had to mark anything as "not received". Checking the stats confirms that most keys are actually sent to their winners. Still, I was (am) really sad that this particular game was the one I didn't receive. Even new users were often fast in delivering keys, or at least telling you that they need one or two days more.

I wanted to know if something similar has happened to you before - you entered GAs for game xy hundreds of times, then you win it, and something goes wrong. Or, if you generally often won/win giveaways where keys were/are not delivered, meaning you have a high number of non-received giveaway wins.

Have you ever won a GA for a game you wanted for a really long time, and then something went wrong (not delivered, invalid key, ...)?

Happened before where I won a game called Trillion but due to steam not being able to gift to countries 10% more expensive, I gave the giveaway creator to possibility to reroll. Its life and also steam messing up the whole steam gifting thing.

I didn't even know about this problem (not being able to gift to particular countries/countries with particular currencies). Some of these changes Steam made really affected this site.

If you gave the right one, you might want to consult with support?
You may contact the person you received from support and check with misuse of feedback.

https://www.steamgifts.com/about/faq

The winner has redeemed my gift, but not marked it "Received". How do I proceed?
If your gift has been activated or redeemed by the winner, and they have not left feedback after one week, please create a support ticket to request received feedback. A support member will review your ticket, and if the gift is activated on the winner's Steam account, they will update the feedback to "Received".

Translation is bad? . sorry.
Victory → Key does not reach → I heard! → There is no reaction! → I checked that it was not received.

FAQ https://www.steamgifts.com/about/faq

If I win a game, when can I expect to receive it?

Giveaway creators are allowed one week to send the gift after their giveaway has ended. Depending on the type of gift and the giveaway creator, you might receive the gift to the email address you have listed on the account page, a key might be added beside the gift you won, or the giveaway creator might have sent you a friend request on Steam to make the exchange. Please remain patient, and do not contact the giveaway creator during this time. If the gift is not received after one week, you can mark the gift as not received, and attempt to contact the giveaway creator on Steam to follow-up.

Well, rarely. One time in 100 times. I think that.(ノΘ`)that's sad.

Misuse of feedback is when someone marks a GA as not received when in fact they did receive it, or vice versa. It has nothing to do with this case. All he has to do is mark it as not received and move on.

Fortunately I hadn't any problems with giveaway creators who don't send the game. Two of my wins had to be deleted because of the steam gift policy and and one time the creator accidentally made a GA for an uplay key. But as less than 1/4 of my wins are from public GAs the possibility is quite small :)

Hopefully you will win the game again 🍀

I won devil may cry, but unfortunately it was region locked, even though it wasn't stated in the description. Even the information on humble's page was rather obscure. It was not the gifter's fault at any case. I just asked for a reroll.

Region restrictions seem to be a problem. I guess a lot of people forget about it when they live in countries that are usually not affected by any restrictions. I often see GAs for games that are not available in Germany or can't be activated here, still I can enter - and funnily, some Germans had no problems with activating although the contrary was stated.

I hate to say it, but I know a number of people on Steam, some German, some from other EU countries, and Australia, who have common region restrictions for content or regional pricing. And they use VPN's, list their regional Stores and download servers to a region with either lower prices, or with fewer or no content related region locks. There are always ways to work around IP related blocks and mailing address restrictions if you are willing to be dishonest and break rules, even if the rules are "stupid" ones.

As a German myself, I sometimes think certain region restrictions are... questionable (best example imo are the Wolfenstein games). However, I either decide to not buy the game, or just live with a cut version. I understand if people use a VPN to activate it, though. What I do not understand however is when people permanently use VPNs for their Steam or to buy games on Steam in order to exploit lower prices, especially when issues are likely to arise (be it with Steam itself or on sites like this).

Won a wishlisted game, dupe key, so the giveaway was deleted :/
But that's the only time I got a bad experience as winner... and it's kinda dwarfed by the guy winning my Unlucky-7 giveaway trying to actively abuse the group (my one non-activated giveaway).

Was there no possibility to get rid of the "not received" mark (via SG support), assuming it was clear to all that particular person deliberately abused the group?

Btw, thanks for "dwarfed" - learned a new expression there!

They don't support custom group rules, so only with the support of the gifter. And with them not agreeing with a re-roll even...

They did get back to me like 3/4th a year later that if I removed him from my blacklist he would allow support to remove that giveaway. Ha, nope from me. I got no tolerance for people that so meticulously try to exploit something, you can't do that by accident.

Recently won a giveaway for which the giver thought he still had a bundle and created 20-30+ giveaways for games of the bundles which could not be delivered. Understandable mistake and allowed him to delete.

We all make mistakes. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

In this case I think most people would be fine with deleting.

I have two not received. One from a user thats inactive. Dont think creator has been online since it ended. And one from a user that had some sort of accident. Was many users that didnt receive the keys.

Other then that it has been a couple of invalid keys etc and I just agreed to have it deleted. No big deal, shit happens.

I once won a game here, the key was invalid, contacted the giveaway creator, he gave me another key which was invalid aswell... After that he just blocked and blacklisted me, and mods here told me that the guy accused me in stealing his keys or something like that. Not exactly the same situation you have here (cuz it wasn't a game I wanted so much), but it felt bad.

Understandable. I reckon most users here are the nice people you expect, but there are always some exceptions. Luckily, I have never had problems with people accusing me (or generally "bigger" problems) here.

Really unfortunate for u. Took a look at the giveaway, was the first giveaway for the creator and completely new on steamgifts. He/she probably didn't know what he/she was doing.

Well, I also saw some users creating a few nice GAs stating that they plan to give away AAA games every month - and they actually did do that. But you're right - the 3-copies-GTA-V-"this is my first giveaway"-GAs are suspicious.

You should probably enter one of the 5k copies mass GAs, if you're desperate for a win. ;-)

Not worth "risk" enter on first their GA, can enter later :)
Nope i dont need "any" win. I enter only on GAs with games that i want try at least or looks interesting but year+ without single win is.. ehm.. weird

Yes, won after a lot of tries .... and then the key was region locked to CIS/RUS... the GA was deleted and restarted as CIS/RUS only GA.
It was frustrating but the Creator show me that (HB) marked it not as region locked and he tried to get me a ROW key and proofed it with screenshots of his communication. Soit was not his fault and no problem that i say "ok" to the GA deletion.

Such things can happen....

And to your GA... report the ne that not give it when he made the same by others. Maybe not know the rules but maybe make troll GA's.
Worth that the Support takes a closer look on him

Not exactly, but my first ever SG win never got delivered, which was a bit discouraging. It's not something I'd play nowadays and I've won lots of other games since so I'm not sad about it.

Once, after one week has passed, I had to contact a giveaway creator for them to deliver on my win because somehow they forgot about it. But that was the only time something like that happened to me in more than three years here.
And looking at the profile of giveaway creator that you've won the game from, all of the giveaways they created are not received. With only a few weeks them being active here, they probably haven't even read nor rules, nor FAQ and didn't even understand how this site works.

Not yet but there's always a chance that a gift has a key that is dupe or region locked and also I refrain from entering dud giveaways, you know those that you can't talk about because of support suspensions, but have a clear feeling and profile that they are duds.

Thank you for your giveaways, ShadowRaven and have a bump! :D

Never had a problem. I did receive a duped key once but it was sorted out without issues.

In your case though I'd guess that there is a language barrier and that the user simply doesn't know how the site works or managed to screw something up in the process, I don't think he intentionally created "fake" giveaways (doubt someone who's just fucking around would create giveaways for Humble games and mention it in the description). Of course, there are a lot of strange people out there so who knows?

Indeed, I don't think that it was intentionally, for the same reason you mentioned (namely, the description).
