I used to think there isn't any way I could bear with GFWL, but I didn't think of the Halo Master Collection. Now I know for sure there still isn't any way.

GTA V deal breaker?

Not for me, I don't think I ever had a GFWL error, lucky I guess, think I had a login issue once but that was my fault for forgetting really...

Deal breaker is if it runs good or not.

The game itself is a deal breaker for me.
Now, after all this time I can wait a few Steam sales, before I grab it for 5€.

Nah, they'll just gonna kill it quietly a few months down the road when people have stopped paying attention to it. "We remain committed to...". They said that about Kinect on the xbone as well and look what happened to that piece of shit pffffftthahahahaha

shutting down playforsure thus screwing lots of people out of their music added to microsofts pretty much total inability to beat apple at anything but desktops os id imagine, theyre trying to make surface an ipad beater and it seems that all its doing is sucking up money :)

Microsoft is terrible at dealing with rumours. How many games ditched GFWL because the developers were worried about GFWL shutting down ?

By not denying the rumour sooner, games produced by Microsoft owned studios have dropped GFWL. Is Microsoft going to try and make those studios switch back ?

Probably not. And you still can't buy new GFWL games, even with it not closing down. Any company that wants continued sales needs to drop GFWL.

I bought it on Origin a couple of weeks ago. It still works with GFWL. Annoying, but not a major inconvenience, given how awesome the game is.

"Although customers are unable to purchase new games from the marketplace or receive title updates, they can continue to enjoy previously purchased content by downloading them through the Games for Windows Live client as usual."

Okay, so existing games are still available through the service... but nothing new.

Especially when it comes to GTAV and "Halo collections", seems like six of one, half dozen of the other. Different ways of saying the same thing. It's not "shutting down" persay, but it's not growing. New games won't be using it, old games won't be able to receive updates and games that have switched probably wouldn't even be able to switch back if they wanted to... which is more or less a death sentence for a service like this.

They dropped the ball, big time. I remember thinking it was pretty cool when i first used it when i got GTA IV. But immediately started having issues, the achievements were broken. Took them a week or 2 to fix. It wasn't long before you didn't hear anything about trying to improve their client. They had a good amount of popular games on their service, but they just didn't care about their service

I, for one, am extremely happy about this. I have several GFWL titles that I still don't have achievements for and now I'll still be able to get them. NO TIME CRUNCH!

But I say this as someone who's never really had an issue with the client. I've never experienced the true horrors of the GFWL service.

GFWL stopped working for me the moment they changed the client to 'Marketplace', but since that was removed, I can finally play GFWL games online now. Even managed to update it last night.. in game. It's a miracle.

Does that mean we will still be able to play multiplayer games like Dead Rising 2?
They said earlier those games won't be supported anymore and that we won't be able to play multiplayer after the 1st July, so what's now?

If we can still play multiplayer it is a real good news !!!!

Goddammit, my whole week is ruined! I was looking forward to finally play GTA IV on Steam... I mean seriously, GFWL completely messes it up. Even though I played EFLC a few times, GFWL apparently thinks I don't own it. As result, I always have to switch CD's to play. And besides, I think the achievements are also broken.

Well, it's good news because we will still be able to play games containing GFWL but I don't think any developer would be stupid enough to actually implement it in their new game.

Fuck you too Microsoft.Everything you ever done in the last 3 years were about fucking PC gamers and praising your "mighty" XBOX.You'll fail hard, you'll fire half of your employees and turn to PC gaming once more.

Whoever decided to let GFWL live, I WISH YOU GET FIRED AND SUFFER YOU ASSHOLE !
