So I've been stuck on level 6 for some times. Granted I didn't post that much until a few month back, but recently I've been posting lots of GAs. Yesterday my CV was 6.67 even though it was 6.71 a few days back. Today I've finish gifting a dozen GAs yet...it's down to 6.64.

What the heck is happening? Are some mods removing CVs? Why would my CV be dropping CV once acquired?

if the price in the steam drops, cv also drops. also applies to removed games or those that go for free.

some games are in packages and when they get discounted, sg takes those values (always happens with daedalic armageddon bundle), so the price increases.

also applies to removed games

Updates to how we sync game prices with Steam, which should result in games keeping their value when they're removed from the Steam store, instead of changing to zero value

seems it's not retroactive?

Yeah, I think when games get bundled they retroactively drop CV, even though they were worth a certain amount when you gifted them. I guess in part the thinking behind it is to keep people active and giving stuff away rather than reaching level 10 and then never giving anything away again ever?
Honestly I'm not sure, but I know that that is the way it works. I think it's a bit annoying too, I've been stuck on level 4 just maintaining my ratio at around 4.75 and I can't see that there will be any way I can get higher with the rate it is dropping vs the amount of GAs I can do... but I guess it is what it is.

if it's bundled after you gave it away, it doesn't drop to 15% cv. =3

That's one of the most common assumptions on this site, but actually it's not true. If you gave away a game before it's been in a bundle you will forever get its unbundled CV. It sometimes happens that the guy who ads game to the list of bundled games (yes, it's done manually) is behind the schedule, so games happen to land on the list a while after they actually appeared in bundles. Sometimes even years after, when a very low discount, an exploit or a bundle has been overlooked.

Just to clarify the retroactive aspect of bundled CV only applies to giveaways that started after the date the game got bundled and only refers to the delay in it getting added to the list since it's a manual process and not automatic.
So if you give away a game today that hasn't been bundled or hasn't fallen below the discount threshold set for the bundle list then even if the game gets bundled tomorrow you'll still be getting the full CV.

Edit: and ofc I've been ninja'd taking my sweet time writing xD

Ah okay - that makes more sense. To be honest, I find it quite confusing (but maybe that is because I am easily confused). I'm just going to keep plugging away and will hopefully get there at some point :-P

Games can be bundled retroactively to effect all copies created after the bundle date, so if you gave a game on the 16th right when it was bundled, but it was added to the bundle list on the 20th, all giveaways from the 16th on would be reduced for bundles. Anything on the 15th and earlier would be safe from that though.
Last bundled games: http://www.sgtools.info/lastbundled

Another reason is that a game can drop in price, and all games here use the current store price for their full value.

For small changes like that the most common factor is the games being part of bigger packages on Steam that go on discount and the API reporting the price of the package as the price of the individual game for the duration of that sale(notorious for it the Daedalic Armageddon as Mully mentioned above) which artificially inflates everyone's CV

It is independent from what you are asking about, but you have a lot of 0$ GA-s. If you go for CV, you may want to avoid that.

Actually, there wasn't enough entry (0), and no winner -> hence 0$ GA. (Well, i didn't check them all, but most of the one i saw seemed to be this situation)

I was once at 4.50 and then I dropped to around 3.30. It was because a bunch of the games I gave away were added to the "bundled list" a week or two after the bundle has ended.

CV laundering by the mods. They may only take 0.01 CV for every giveaway sent, but it adds up. The admins have been suspecting the mods were cooking the CV books for years, but just hasn't been able to catch them; they're just too good!

I heard this from a source, a very reputable source that wishes to stay anonymous (read: no source at all).

No can can take off your CV, even Mods. It not a pile which add up or decrease with each actions, it's all the time recalculated.
The only thing which can change it's the WAY it's calculated, and affect everyone the same.
Lots of people above explained different rules, it maybe a bit hard a get, as new one are added from time to time, but overall it's understandable if you take a bit of time. Read the FAQ, and there is also an unofficial FAQ you can find in the forum :)
