So i have picked up a number of games recently and well they seem to be point and click, what is up with all of them being point and click? I mean myself I find them to be so boring I manage to make it to the first scene of the game and exit it. Can you tell me why they have become so popular I mean maybe I look at it wrong but when I play a game I wanna run around and shoot shit, or just any type of random thing that involves moving around freely. It is just on my mind why point and click games have become so damn popular i mean how do people find any fun in them. Maybe you guys could help me see what i am missing with point and click games.

There is a give away http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/Uw0qj/the-walking-dead, lol just not sure how to make clicky for it forgot anyway thanks in advance for people that comment on how click and point games are good or not.

shooters are point-and-click games too! you just have lots and lots and lots of bullets in your inventory and they seem to work on most things! :D

The dialogue could use some work. Perhaps they need to add some different inflections to "Need ammo" and "Medic!".

I LOVE POINT AND CLICK. Much more emphasis on story and logic over flashy gameplay.

Well, it's about using your brains. You analyze the situation; you put clues together; you solve the puzzle. It's all about the feeling of pride in accomplishing something with your own wits. They also can have a really great story.

Well, i wasn't into point and click until i played TWD, it's a great game but it's better than others of the same kind i think, you should try it out

Point and click has been around for a while, if you dont like it, do a little research on the game before buying and if you got it from a giveaway, it's free, so don't complain.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound rude, that's what i do before entering a giveaway; as for they are good or not, i'd say it's just a matter of taste, there's lame point and click like Jurassic Park for the SEGA console and there's outstanding games like telltale's The Walking Dead. Most of the people i know who hates shooters or RPG's loved that game, so like i said it's just a matter of taste.

Graphical adventure games are the best (well used to be anyway). Grim Fandango is truely the best game ever made.

You know what, Grim is amazing, but my heart will always belong to Sam & Max. The nostalgia...

The Longest Journey is at the top of my list. I never managed to get through Grim Fandango, probably because I played when I was like 10.

I don't like most point and click games either because they usually involve pixel-hunting and very little logic (not to mention puzzles with a single correct solution). Scratches: Director's Cut is an example of a great PAC game with great ambience and story, while Nikopol symbolizes everything I don't like about them.

depends on which era you grew up in and what games you were exposed to in the early stages , but you can enjoy a good point and click game at any point in your life, provided you have the skill (lacking now a days ) called patience and a knack to appreciate good artwork , voice acting and story.

Some of my favorite P&C games,

My first "Curse of Monkey Island" oh my gawd, such awesomness.... replayed using Scummvm so many times..
all monkey island series games are decent, recently they released remastered editions of the old ones..
sam and max
Deponia and chaos on deponia

these are some of the ones that bounce off the top of my head,
there are numerous P&C games that defined a whole era of gaming...
explore and delve into this world .. for most you might not end up liking it cause its not fast paced action like you are used to..
but for the few who do.. well you ll know how it feels :)

I found a random key for Air buckeneers so i figured I would hunt for my cv after dropping 756TW-8MX7Q-63Z2D, anyway please remember if you have the game to respect my wishes of letting someone who doesn't have it get it... Now where the hell did that cv go must find it.

Depends on the game. I don't really like Walking Dead and Telltale games in general. But some adventures, like the Black Mirror trilogy, or Gray Matter are simply amazing.

You know, in a point and click everything is about the story. Like a novel with pictures and some puzzles. I think every player of "To the Moon" can tell you that that game is epic "though" it is a point and click. If you play video games to rage shoot everything that moves and stuff, well that is your thing, but there are also players to like to have a good story in their games instead^^

Adventure games are all about the storyline. Think of them as the midpoint between a book and a video game. They're sort of like interactive books. I guess if you don't like to read, you might not like point and click games.

Point and clicks are good for the story like some people said, but also good for people who don't have very good computers. They tend to be less graphically intensive than an FPS.

I personally enjoy them because sometimes I like to have a couple of beers and kick back with an easy, non-stressful game. It's nice to be able to boot up, say, Botanicula and click around for an hour rather than committing to playing a round of Dota or something.

I love adventure games. They typically have much better writing and dialogue than most games, and the best source of humor in video games. They're a terrific break from brown & gray shooters and I'm grateful that they're having a second wind.

because they don't focus much on gameplay, other aspect of the game is enhance, mainly storyline.

Thanks for the giveaway but-.... Why did buy or enter a giveaway for point & click games which you knew you would dislike? I mean honestly, a simple glance at the genre or the description would have given it away wouldn't it?

Would the person that won The Walking Dead please add me to your friends list, so I can get it to you. For some reason I am not able to view your profile or anything all it shows me is your name and well there are quite the few when i search on steam to add you as my friend. Hopefully you view this if not I will try through support and see if they may have any suggestions for me.
