To all of you who may know about this thread, I am very proud, and insanely happy, to announce that I have bought the game and will start enjoying it any time soon! :)))

Good luck. I hope you will be able to run it. If you have Win7/8.x, you might have better luck with the fan patches.
(An advice though, which seems to be missing from many unofficial patch guides: set compatibility to 16-bit colour depth, because the game really hates 32-bit…)
Also, a tip: don't go for guns on first play through. You'll have an incredibly tough time.

I run Windows 10, but hell, no probs setting up a VM just for that! ;)
Hmm... I just tried it while writing this. And it works perfectly out of the box! :D
I thought it would take for a couple of days for Steam to straighten it out, but no :)

Get the UAP at least though, and also try to play for a little while. See if the graphics are staying as they should and if you can save and load, and if load times are sane (they should be instantaneous). If all checks out, you are good to go. ^__^
Just… don't try to Alt-Tab out of it. Ever.

Again, thanks for the tips! :) yeah, I ought to try the save/load test, but was like, it should probably crash or not working. but no worries, I'll try it! :)
I really hope I remember that Alt+tab one, I do that alot xD

I think it was because for mechanical stuff, you not only need the blueprint, but all the parts for it AND everything to make the bullets, too. For magic you just need the spell and enough mana; potions and such require parts though. It's been a while, but i remember having to do a lot of dumpster diving:\
