Kinda dead? The game has over 9,000 people playing an hour ago..

Also, have to keep an eye on the fact that that's Steam. A.k.a. the massive minority considering the mix of UPlay being the primary client with better deals there usually for their games and also the Humble Monthly + 3rd party site sales + the current Humble Store extreme sales.
So if there's a whole 9k on Steam, I'd even hazard a guess that there's around 45k at least on other UPlay.

People are negative-review bombing THIS game because they're angry about the Division 2 epic exclusive. That's laughable.

It is NOT exclusive to Epic Fail Hohlenkin. Home store Store.ubi, Humble Bundle, Amazon, Greenmangamming, Gamersgate, etc.

yeah people are hypocrites when it comes to The Divison 2 being on the Epic game store. When they say put it on other stores they actually mean put it back on Steam and for all i care it can be exclusive to Steam but it has to be on Steam.

And disingenuous. By that point you're just soapboxing and not reviewing the merits of the game itself.

Yeah, I agree that it's idiotic. There's are places where you can do it. These reviews keep record of overall stats and right now potential customers are just being lied to because people are unaware of forums and discussions.

Just wish you could upgrade to gold edition if you had the base game, but seems you need to request Steam to delete the base game from your library to buy the gold edition, or else it says "You already have one on of these items, you can only buy it as a gift."

FYI you can buy season passes and DLCs as uplay keys or from uplay itself. They just won't show up in your steam library, of course. But you'll be able to play them anyway.

Do you know if the opposite works, i have the base game and a dlc at uplay, can i buy the rest dlcs on steam and combine them? I know for some ubi games this tactic works but not for everything.

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't think more than a few games can do it. My example was meant for games owned on steam that will launch uplay client. Some Ubisoft games will not require both clients.
Games bought on uplay have no connection to steam at all in most cases. Also, on steam it's not possible to buy dlcs for games you don't own, unless it's one of the few cases of a mess with the AppID and the steam store sees the dlc as a base game.

Got it last night, tried playing for an hour, it's kind of clunky with somewhat inflexible cover system that stupids out sometimes and climbing over fences being weird but... managed to do 3 initial side missions, went on the main mission, chose hard... somehow managed to get to the boss on top of the station and... well... can't do anything to him. Had to quit to go to bed, will have to try normal. Am I that bad or is the game a bit weird when playing solo?

It's been a while since I played Division but I don't think you're bad at the game nor that the game scales enemy strength badly for solo play, you're just approaching this wrong:

This is not a single player shooter where mainly the player's skill determines the recommended difficulty level, it's a gear based MMO shooter where the quality of your equipment and weapons determine what you can do.

I think the normal game progression is:

  • Finish the story on Normal and do sidemissions
  • Replay story missions on Hard as Daily Quests to farm some kind of currency and Legendary Gear
  • Incursions = Raids / replay Story missions on Insane difficulty.... I'm not exactly sure

At least that's how we played it with a steady 3 player Fireteam and for the higher difficulties we usually still let matchmaking fill up the team with a random.

Ah, thank you, I'll try doing that. Thanks!

Worked. Playing "normal" and paying attention to mission level, boosting around then joining groups for main missions got me to unlock 2 wings in the base already, upgrade them to 20-30% each in just a few hours. Need that tech guy for the third wing. But enough for tonight. Anyway, thanks for the advice, for some reason I didn't realize it's a "realistic borderlands" game. Also, playing on normal was smooth compared to hard.

I just started the game a few days ago, played first mission (the hospital one) at hard and i couldnt even reach the boss, both solo and with a friend. We ended up finishing it on normal and move on. After that i tried the next mission on hard again and finished it without much trouble solo, same for a few more missions. For some weird reason the hospital one is way too difficult even with a party and everything after that is much easier on solo at least thats what i have found out so far from my experience. I would advise you to try one more mission on hard and see how it goes. I just cant stand normal as its like a walk on a park, the AI arent much of a threat at all.

I was actually having issues with the police station in Brooklyn even, that was before being flown into Manhattan, but I agree, some later missions I did basically by myself (Underground Morgue, for example) while others 4 of us barely survived even though the enemy level was officially 2-4 and we were all 6-7.

Yeah, turrets changed my perspective of the game instantly... though I'm not always sure what's happening with them, sometimes they just follow the enemies, other times they shoot. Or maybe I'm now confusing with D2 beta I played late last night (seems easier, though).

The game requires Uplay. If you get it on Steam and hit play it will launch the Uplay client. Other than that it's the same.

The only significant advantage I experienced having any Ubisoft game on Steam was the autoupdate. No idea if there's a setting I couldn't find on Uplay to keep the games up to date. They always check for updates the very moment I try to run them. Which is inconvenient, since my internet isn't any fast.
Even if the games did update the exact moment a patch comes out, I'm used to run Uplay only when I intend to play a game, while Steam is pretty much always running in background.

Overall, the DLCs for Division are far cheaper on the Humble Store for Uplay keys. It's an obvious choice for me, since I had the base game from a Humble Monthly already.

Just reinstalled it after playing TD2 beta.
I like the winter setting better.
The feeling of despair, loneliness is excellent and somehow, the first game seems closer to reality. I also liked the bad guys (Cleaners, Rikers, LMB) vs .... Hyenas.
And the music seemed better :D

Worth getting the season pass from HB (link in the post above) for just 4 Euro. It works with Steam version too.

I didn't have the base game, so for me, it was cheaper to get the Gold Edition from Steam instead. But just out of curiosity, if you have a Uplay game on Steam and you buy a DLC for the Uplay version of that game from elsewhere, like Humble Store, does Uplay download the necessary files for you after the activation, or you also need to download an installer from the same store to install the DLC files?

Can confirm this, have the base game on steam, got the pass on hib for uplay, it just unlocked bunch of "supply drops" and stuff and terminal doors in the back of main base for lvl30 stuff.
